  Fatter than previous bottles, this still has the creamy, buttered popcorn flavour but lacks a bit of tension and grace. A good bottle but in the context of the evening a little bit lost.

  This is PYCM's 'hidden' wine in that it never goes in front of the critics which means better value for those who follow this producer.
  Emerging with a touch of the saline savouriness that seems to be the hallmark of his wines when young and then, like a sailboat picking up a favourable wind, billowing out with great butter-coated popcorn flavour and a subtle scolded cream texture. A touch of grilled pineapple and toast wrap things up nicely. Lacking the real depth and profundity of a top site but I dare you to find a better example of PV Sous Frétille.
