In such a beautiful place, fully mature, complex, ethereal and life-affirming white Burgundy. Florals, lemon, lime, spice, mineralite and seaside seamlessly interwoven. Just a delight.

Gave this one 6 hours slow ox. Very pale, almost colourless, green tinged. Unique nose, curry leaf, cumquat, lime blossom, seaside. Palate exceptionally soft and gentle, floral, prominent geranium, lime, honey, mineralite, perhaps a hint of macadamia. Glad I slow-oxed, every other bottle has felt too soon, potential, etc, this is truely lovely.

The 2009 Pierre Yves Colin Morey Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Les Baudines offers a nice bouquet of textbook PYCM reduction and buttery toast. Sweet pear fruits, exotic spices and ripe citrus. Still very young but the palate is showing the 2009 heat, a tad too alcoholic. Nonetheless lovely weight and expressiveness. (85/100)
