  • We think this is a special wine that requires a more, dare we say it, sophisticated palate. If you want a zesty Sauvignon Blanc, fruit Chardonnay or even a fun-sipping Vinho Verde, then walk around the corner. This is that unique vixen in graduate school, who revels in being different while being envied by the cool cheerleaders and secretly sought-after by the Captain of the Yank football team. Do you remember Rizzo in Grease? She is sashaying around in our glasses! Or perhaps the Roar of Katy Perry for the younger folk. Significantly dark yellow to the eye. A bit of petrol (not enough...too young?), silky vanilla, musty oak and oh our ears and whiskers - some serious honey. Shockingly still fresh and vibrant. We are sipping via Coravin so we plan to continue for another 4+ weeks. This is way too cool for school!

  • Amazing how fresh this still is. This clearly has many more years in it. Petrol, roasted cashew, dark toffee, and rubber on the nose. The palate is minerally with waves of tangy lemon. Bracing acidity held in check by the weight/balance. Great pairing with seared scallops, crab cakes, escargot.

  • This reminded me a lot of fine white Bordeaux: dry palate, saline, wax/paraffin, flowers, oak, restrained melon fruit. High acids act as a preservative. I would have liked more fruit, but there is no denying the classiness of this wine. Someone else uses the word 'aristocratic' below - very apt.

  • A fine-boned wine, almost aristocratic in its poise and balance. All elements integrated with nothing sticking out, nothing over the top. Somewhat reserved and slightly austere. High acid, salty, nutty, mineral and long. Superb with paella and tapas.

  • Color: pale yellow
Nose: lemony, lovely bouquet, bees wax, nutty, very complex
Palate: wow still young, citrus, still high acidity, a distinctly interesting Blanc
