A nose of bright fruit, dark purple in color. A full bodied Shiraz, fruit pie, blackberry, blueberry, plum with pepper, not for Old World fans, but for this price a fun midweek wine.

The nose is slightly restrained, but opens up with a 30 minute decant. Nice fruit on the attack, with typical aussie shiraz blue and black fruits. Tannins are silky, well integrated, and balanced. There's decent acidity that keeps the fruit in check, with touch of leather and spice on the finish. Pretty good!

(C+) On first opening, this wine really struggled. Way over-extracted and hot. Astringent on the front of the tongue, and then just dies, with no back or side palate. Day 2 was much the same, with some sweet earth flavors coming through. Day 3, the wine was finally drinkable. Much smoother, with some nice sweet earth and light tobacco flavors. The fruit was still rather overpowered by heat. A drinkable wine, with enough air. Pretty standard for Australians in the pricepoint.

Last bottle of a case. Time to drink up. Average entry level Barossa Shiraz. Good QPR.

Classic Oz Shiraz. Dark fruit, especially blueberry, some pepper
More than you'd expect at the Cindy price point, should have bought more.
