Awesome with grilled steak and late-season caprese salad. Punches way above its price, fully integrated supple tannins, cherry and red bramble fruits, rich fruit, and long finish.

Still drinking well. Kept some for day 2. Better day one after quick decant. Looks like this is the only remaining bottle in CT, so if you find them for under $15, buy em. Nice surprise.

The color is amazing for a Merlot of this age! Dark crimson; very little bricking. Nose is initially pretty closed on the PnP with just light fragrances of rosemary and dark fruit. As it begins to open, the aroma evolves into a dark cherry, eucalyptus, leather, forest floor profile. Nice acidity on the palate; flavors of blackberry and plum. Finish is long and lingering with saw dust, leather, stone and juniper berries. Still some tannins hanging on in the back end. Later on, the nose developed a noticeable amount of barnyard! That was quite bizarre and unexpected, but it made the wine that much more interesting.
