  • I am always coming back to the conclusion that this is a darn 100-year port. Still incredibly youthful and no sign of maturing. Expressive nose displaying blueberry liqueur, cassis, bitter chocolate, dark spices, a hint of smoke, ink and earth. What impresses me once again is the great precision and balance. Incredible concentration, blueberry liqueur driven palate impression, unctuous yet silky, strong presence of acidity, no noticeable tannins due to opulent concentrated fruits and incredible long sweet finish. It is drinking beautifully in very primary way. Considering how unpopular port and Sauternes are, this represents some of the greatest values out there.

  • My bottle was most definitely ready and I am not sure the cork would have lasted another 5 years. Maybe, but if I had another bottle I would enjoy it soon

  • Popped this gift from my 2013 Secret Santa before Thanksgiving and enjoyed through the Holidays. finishing with friends on Boxing day. Excellent fruit, nice concentration. Great to enjoy young (Cheers, CiH!) but obviously many great years ahead. Watch the sediment!

  • Taylor's Port: From magnum. A lot more barnyard, plum, cedar, lead pencil. Hints of Claret. Sweeter on the palate, alcoholic, less stuffing than the ’11. Still not entirely integrated, the alcohol is very evident. Good leafy, inky finish. Needs time. 93++

(TAYLOR FLADGATE VINTAGE PORT) #3; NOSE-like Ware's, more cherry, but also chocolate; TASTE-extemely good, love it, but doesn't have the extra sparkle that the Warre's is showing; WA(Pierre Rovani)-98, V-93

(Taylor's Vintage Port) Lovely nose, with a typical Taylor's feminine, elegant style, alongside dark fruits and beetroot notes. Concentration here, but with finesse. A slightly raw edge to the tannins, but with good firm acids, and a feminine fruit style. Has the style, and the structure to go the distance. Good potential.
