  • Popped and Poured. Haven't had this in a few years and was expecting some decline but this wine is drinking even better. Fantastic nose of cassis with notes bell pepper and fresh herbs. Full bodied with plenty of blackberry and blackcurrant fruit. Very smooth mouthfeel with some green/herbal notes on the mid-palate. Long finish with integrated tannins and a little black tea at the end. This is a tremendous wine that has aged really well and could go on for another 10 years. Only 200 cases were made so there are probably not too many of these left. Easily the best wine from Teachworth. If you know someone who has this wine i would encourage them to share!

  • Well, I have had just about all of the Teachworth wines over the years as a member of the mailing list and my firm opinion is that this is the one to have. In general I prefer the estate wine to the the single vineyard wines and something magical happened in 02 that has not quite been duplicated. This one is a beuatiful rich, broad wine with deep blackberry flavor and aroma and a touch of sweet spice (sage/rosemary) on the nose. Can be enjoyed on its own or with food. It is still drinking beautifully and has a few years ahead of it. I wish they were all like this one but the later years haven't quite duplicated the promise of this one. Maybe '12 or '13 will be the charm.

  • Very nice tonight. At their best, the Teachworth wines are very compelling and this is one of the best. Bright currant and grippy blackberry with strength and bold flavors but somehow not at all over the top. Really great wine.

  • Color: Opaque core with a ruby rim
Smell: Broiled scallops, clove, spice, tobacco, graphite, and dark fruits
Taste: Blue fruit, tobacco, cinnamon, and dark fruits
Overall: Outstanding...medium body, med tannin, and med+ fruit. This is a wine that is showing well now and should improve with time sideways in the cellar. Drink now - 2024

  • Nice wine with notes of blackberry, currant and a touch of smoke. Definitely time to start drinking these. Curious to see if they will improve or just stay at this level.
