Wines Tasted at HDH Auction (Tru - Chicago IL): Ultra ripe fruit with the most faint spice hints. Very pleasurable today, but in a simple one dimensional way, certainly not showing any Clos de la Roche character. In fact I could easily have thought this wasn't from Burgundy if served blind, but that's mostly the ripe 2003 character.
HDH Auction (Tru - Chicago, IL): Lots of sweet red fruit on the nose. Super sap. Big fruit, and lacking in complexity. At the end of the day, this is a very delicious pinot but the heat in 2003 stripped this of the earthiness it could have developed.
