Alc: 14.5%; Deep garnet to bricking rim. Distinct tertiary bouquet showing old leather armchair, black toffee, dried spices, jube fruit, dry forest floor. Classic old Aussie Cabernet moving to a Syrah. Full-bodied, a rather lemon acidity (added?), with a granular texture, this is a gutsy wine that at 15 years old is quite powerful with a good concentration of flavour and a long length. The flavour include baked black fruits, muscovado sugar and some molasses. On top is lavender and blackberry & boysenberry preserve. Finished with sweet fine powder tannins. Has that subtlety of McLaren Vale over the directness of Barossa.

Not one to overthink. A bright nose, ample dark, spicy fruit coming through immediately. Some vanilla, low oak factor. Good with tortellini and cheeseburgers.

Fruit, fruit, fruit! Easy drinking and enjoyable, but not very interesting. Decent value for 12.00 - would be disappointed if I paid more. The 99 had a little more going on - maybe this will also in a couple years.

Nice, smooth. Degraded quickly -- two days later was significantly less drinkable. Drink it while you've got it.
