Drunk probably 3-4 years past recommended cellaring. Deep dusky red colour showing its age, perfect clarity. Impressive nose, tobacco leaf, cigar box, toasty oak and then through to the palate. Some dark fruit remains, some fine tannins still there. Once it settles in glass very easy drinking. A few hours later red berries come to the fore and the wine lost a lot of its aged characteristics (cigar, tobbaco...). Had with roast lamb rump and seemed to suit it well. Definitly better a few years ago although still v/good older drinking with an outstanding nose.

Every bit as good as I remember it from trips to Australia in the late '90s and early naughts. They call it "Classic Shiraz" but that does not imply ordinary. This has a leathery back flavor that compliments everything. Had it with rack of lamb. Shame it's still not available in the U.S.
