  From screw cap; really dark purple, semi translucent and faint color change at rim; graphite, oak, dark cherry, blackberry, slight cedar, bell pepper, polished, big and alcoholic; dense, rich, dark fruit, bell pepper, low acid; I feel this was just entering a good drinking window,it could age well if properly stored but the acid a little worrisome for prolonged aging, definitely decant for a good while.

  Drank over dinner at delmonico in l.v. with drycab. Wine was mature with smooth tastes and well integrated fruit. No apparent tannin. Drink sooner than later.

  8/29/08: Decanted for one hour, should have been two or three as the wine took a lot of time to develop. This is a great wine, close to classic. The color is dark squid ink dark purple. The nose is full of blackberry, red fruit, spice, tobacco and leather and floral notes. This is a full bodied wine of incredible balance and structure. Everything complements and supplements the other elements; oak, tannin, acidity, alcohol and fruit. The flavors are equally complemental, with blueberry, blackberry, red stone fruits, smoke. The finish is very long with soft tannins and more a replay of the entire experience than a focus on a particular element. Good now but it would out live me if i let it, which i vow not to let happen.

  Dark purple/inky color. Only 500 cases of this gem made. Aromas/flavors of blackberry, black cherry, plum, blueberry, smoke and leather. Well integrated tannins produce a long, lucious 45+ second finish.
