Very nice Margaux with good balance and black berry flavours. Just starting to move into it's next phase as a little earthiness creeping in on the smokey nose. Would recommend consuming now as in an appealing mature stage. Decanted for an hour and forcefully aerated before partnering well with roast duck.
Classic claret, after long decant, gives cassis , graphite , leather on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied , long, fine elegant acidity, ripe but present tannins. The taste is full of elegant red berries , tea. The wine feels very elegant and is a fine representative of this vintage !
Ths wine is finally opening its drinking windows: After opening a restrained but clear nose of fresh flowers and a very polished and juicy palate. With air, it really blossoms and after two hours it has a wonderful and pure taste of ripe red berries, cherries and some herbs. Elegant and polished texture and finish. A real pleasure to drink on a weekday. Perfect bottle, out of OWC bought at release. Now-2025.

(Chateau Giscours Margaux) This has a lovely, dense perfume on the nose, with dark fruits presented in an elegant, gravelly style. On the palate it is quite dense and spicy, with a significant core of ripe and grippy tannin. This has fine style, the texture in keeping with the structure. It is dense, a wine of substance, but it has an alluring edge. This seems to have really fattened out since my previous tasting, and the wine now seems a match for the structure. A higher score is certainly deserved.
(Chateau Giscours Margaux) Quite a fine, red fruit and perfume nose, with youthful cashew nut oak on the nose. On the palate it is rather lighter in impact than some other wines. There is a firm wall of tannin and rather bracing acidity too, the texture and fruit isn't quite up to the same level. Good character, but perhaps a little over worked.
(Chateau Giscours Margaux) Lovely appearance, dark and glossy, not quite with the intensity of the 2005 though. Rather closed on the nose, although there is a pleasing presence of mineral-laced black fruits. Ripe, rounded palate, very firm, quite a complete style. Firm tannins and nice acidity. Great typicity, really attractive with it. The tannins only dominate on the finish. This has good potential.
