(Ads&Geoff@Coolah) inky spices, hint of cinnamon and other woodspice, faded leather and tepanade. Ashy plums, sour cherries, dusty leather and barnyard, with old blackpeppers. Juicy finish with long eucalypt and more dusty spices. Went rather well with Geoff's slow BBQ of homegrown roots and hunk of chimmichurri beef. Still alive, certainly enjoyable, but drink now!

Relieved: Unlike the last bottle (corked), this bottle is still going strong, dark brooding ruby garnet in glass, almost black. A soft perfume of dusty black and blue berries, with some sour cherries, leather, pepper, light barnyard funk, and acrid sweat. Taste is cool, savory and earthy, amidst still youthful berries and leather, with a hint of old dusty chinese herbs. Super soft tannins, still holding things together, but only just. Clayey black earth and ferrous minerality, leading to a pleasantly savory (soysauce/bouillon), if smoky, end, picque'd with cool tea and menthol. A tad past it's prime, losing some balance and focus, but nevertheless a good show. Decent match with a thai-teochew fried duck vermicelli.

(Brunner 1 of 3: Australia Day BBQ w Mich&Bo and Fleur) Light, tawny red in glass, hinting at its age. Pretty nose of dried figs, prunes, faded blackberries, old leather and pretty raspberries, but dead on the palate: thin, sour, sharp, tannic, with a sappy, savory aftertaste, albeit with faint eucalypts. Pity! I hope my remaining 2 bottles aren't like this!

Beautiful, paler red not as deep purple. Still tasting good, decanted for 5 hours in the bottle.

Remarkably fresh given its age. Dark cherries, dark but fresh colour, but a bit overoaket to my taste. Good QPR!
