(SYP) Small glass. The oak here really sticks out on the nose and probably will not be fully integrated. Some red plum to the backend. It is slightly toasted in the mouth, but also fresh and racy. Understated and quite elegant as Drouhin always is. 93

The fruit is basically gone now, but the secondary characteristics are now coming alive. I would wait another decade to try again when the secondary character is fully developed.

Light ruby. Exceedingly complex aromas of pine, spice, and red fruit-very fragrant. Medium weight, supple, and a feel that suggests clay soil. Poised, gently sweet fruit even at this age, a touch of cinnamon, fine acidity, some remaining tannin. After a few hours, it dries out a bit. All in all, fine, fully mature, and very enjoyable, although not a peak RSV experience. What it lacks is some degree of depth and flavor complexity.

This is holding up well and drinking well. Deep red color with slightly floral nose, VR spices and forest floor. Medium plus palate with good fruit and acidity, medium finish. Not a blockbuster but a good 92 rouge.

Zachys La Paulée Auction, Day Two (Le Bernardin Prive - New York NY): Still showing lots of bright red fruit with moderate concentration, moderate weight, exceptional balance. Subtle and very elegant. Will easily last another decade.
