  • In a great drinking window. Little bit juicier than it's neighbor, Louis Martini Monte Rosso Cab, which I had a couple of days back.

  • No notes, but like some prior bottles this tasted rich and ripe, but also a bit old/oxidized and even musty. Medium to full body with plenty of red fruit , a plush, velvety texture and a soft structure The musty component takes away from what is otherwise a very nice wine. Must be a lot of bottle variation .

  • I liked this one a lot - much, much better than prior bottles. Big, rich, ripe and structured - more like a Napa cab, but with some bordeaux-like flavors of earth, leather and tobacco. Smooth, velvety, rich, and concentrated. Dead ringer for a St. Julien bordeaux after about an hour - same elegance, complexity and earthiness. This was way beyond my expectations -I drank it with meatloaf! - LOL! Just short of spectacular.

  • Last night and no notes. Very musty and barnyard nose that did not ever completely blow off. Dark fruits with some earth, smoke and herbs. Very bordeaux-like flavors and complexity, and also rathert soft and lush. Very enjoyable but the lack of structure made it too soft for my palate. Like a prior bottle, this was very much a Sonoma-style cab, but with bordeaux flavors and complexity.

  • Nose was somewhat musty and "old" when first opened. Good news is that the musty aromas blew off after a few minutes. Not sure what the mix of varieties is, but the flavors were definitely not straight cabernet. Too much in the way of smoke, meat and herbs, and not nearly enough structure for me. Very much a Sonoma not a Napa cab. I was somewhat disappointed. Hope it was just an off bottle.
