PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs and day 2 -med dark red no bricking -moderately expressive high-toned sour red cherry candied plum -med+/high acidity well-balanced by moderate mid-palate density distinctly red delicious apple notes candied tart red fruit intermingled with earthy soil tones, med- tannins good length; becomes somewhat shrill and less charming on day 2 -this is drinking very well right now in early maturity, captures the tension of the vintage while having enough stuffing to avoid being shrill, may still have a few years of upside, would be outstanding with more complexity

Red berry and cherry notes on the nose. Palette comes across similarly. Good acidity and moderate length. Didn't get the complexity others have noted. Rather typical, lean 2008. Good structure though, with aging potential. Will leave for a couple more years.

The nose is packed with pure tart cherries, raspberry, underbrush, and chalk. The palate is a bit closed and linear, but nevertheless reveals cool cranberries and cherries balanced by minerals, earth, and tomato. Dried green herbs, black tea, sweet/tart red berries drive the finish. This is definitively young and could use time in the cellar, as its structure bodes well for the future. R&M 90+

Ojai and Burgundies - Not a Bad Saturday (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): tooch and i are in agreement on this one. the nose is sexy and elegant with crushed pepper, sour cherries, incense and sandalwood. the palate is light on its feet but pure and powerful at the same time. it's like a woman that works out, does yoga, then puts on a tight dress and hits the dance floor. the palate is so silky, yet strong. really complex wine that makes you think. i loved this baby.
