  • This wine started very convincing, but some hours later the ripe acidity disappeared a bit, however two days later the scrap in the bottle showed again very balanced. Don't compare this wine with Burgundies. Every time I taste a different backbone, due to a more pronounced acidity. The style is more hefty, maybe less sophisticated, but the wine pleases the palette and is very pure. Drink the 2008 now!

  • JURA NIGHT (ENOTECA ROSSORUBINO TORINO): Maybe this bottle was a bit over-ripe and honeyed... not as perfect as the one I had before Christmas.
This one lacked of acidity and mineral long finish. I did not cathc his Chablis-side, but anyway, always a masterpiece!!

Meno performante dell' ultimo assaggio natalizio.... un pò più maturo, mieloso e quasi avanti con gli anni.... Mi è mancato il suo lato "Chablissienne" e la sua complessità, però sempre un bianco meraviglioso!

  • Tasted blind (not I, but my friends) with the Les Grands Teppes.
The Les Grands Teppes was the winner, although a bit chunky, the wine showed fatness, body and had a pure chardonnay nose and taste with just that little difference (the acidity/minerality) between this wine and e.g. a Corton-Charlemagne. The Les Chalasses was more reticent and therefore difficult to assess. With more aeration the wine showed more intensity and backbone; so maybe within one or two years this wine will grow. Both bottles decanted (from bottle to bottle) two hours before the tasting.

  • One of Ganevat 's best crus

    Hey man, this is funky!!!
Popped and poured, classic smell of lightly oxidated stuff, I love this sulfur coming out....Reminds me of all great Valentini Trebbiano.
It tells you that everything is alive inside!!

Now add to this salty freshness a buttery layer of a Batard-Montrachet.

An entry-level oxidatif-style, made by a master of a winemaker that
Combines a richness creamy texture, bright acidity, saltyness
sea shell, with light pear, iodine, lemon, fuji apple.

What about the long finish.... here we are again!!
Cirtus, saltyness and acidity of a Chablis, with a layer of creamy-Batard-hazelnut

It is just impossible to stop pouring another glass, smiling like an idiot!!!
I would drink Ganevat all life long!!!

Burgundy + Chablis = Jura ( at a ridiculous price)

    A masterpiece
