We decanted and somehow it helps but this si a wine of 2 faces , totally different that, at least in our bottle, was impossible to enjoy. The nose is an easy 95, meaty, smoky, herby. Super b nose. The palate though was impossibly sharp and difficult . Weirdest wine for a long time. Pointless to rate. Good luck.

Bud's 70th at Ortega Fish Shack (Ortega Fish Shack, Wellington, New Zealand): Yummy aged Grenache in a great place right now. Rich, opulent, gamey fruit and a rich, sweet, complex and satisfying palate add up to a delicious expression of high alcohol, mid - late maturity CNdP. Provencal herbal aromas and flavors are an enjoyable aspect to the wine. A point right now but showing no signs of decline.

oh how different from the last one. beautiful wine. very soft. well balanced. full of roasted fruit. i think that it was better than the VV that i had a short time ago.

i am not rating this wine as, over the course of the evening, it was three different wines.
i decanted. considerable sediment. restrained nose and it was not giving up much flavor. within two hours in opened up more than i would have thought. much impproved but still not one of the stars of the vintage. i would have given it a 90. after it remained in the decanter for about 4 more hours, i tried it again. it had fallen completely apart. strange wine.
