  Upon opening it seemed a little disjointed, with primary fruit on one side and high tannins and high acid levels on the other. After about 2 hours in the decanter and then poured back into the bottle it came together quite nicely, but still was very reticent on the nose and palate. Hold for 5 or 10 more years easily.

  NV 2001 Barbaresco and Barolo (Marta, NYC): [Double-decanted around 2pm for 4 hours.] Strong, unpleasant nose of red fruit and acetone. Similarly unpleasant in the mouth. Severe VA.
