15JUN19 at Bacchus Wijnfestival: Medium+ garnet color with visible aging; dark strawberry and leather on nose; medium body, velvety texture, and balanced tannins; bright fruit and leather on palate, coupled with sour cherry, a bit of minerality, and faint spice; potentially just beyond prime drinking window, but a wonderful wine nonetheless

Wine had a tawny look, and a very fine sediment was visible. Taste was a revelation; I expected something thin and old. The nose lacked any flower or fruit. In tasting the palate showed no fruitiness, but was dominated by a persitent woodiness -- nothing like the vanilla of new oak but closer to cedar and cigar box. You knew you were tasting a mature wine but with a smile still on it. Really enjoyed it, a memorable experience compared to drinking a younger wine.

popped and poured. earthy smell, typical aging bordeaux claret, medium bodied as the tannins are almost gone, easy to drink but lack of complexity. Drink now.

Bright tawny colour. A nose of blackcurrant leaves and nettles, with a palate of earthy fruit. A medium body and still a decent finish despite its age. Needs drinking soon.

Light blood red with already a carmine edge. Caramel and butter in the bouquet, but not really exquisite. On the palate a lot of soft ripe berries and soft tannin. Medium bodied and friendly. Supple and pleasant wine. Nice now, but will be ok in 2 – 4 years from now. Not for keeping very long.
