After the disappointing Wente Nth Degree, my wife demanded that I produce another Chard for my homemade chicken salad, so I grabbed this. Well-played. Slightly golden yellow with a lemon creamsicle vibe wafting over the rim. Solid acidity and verve on the palate, terminating with a lengthy finish. Solid up and down. I think I was able to redeem myself. For now. thedrunkencyclist.com

shared with pat at selkirk manor. this wine was discounted. the retailer probably felt that this wine was at the end of its rope and wanted to make room on the shelf for more current inventory. after tasting the first bottle purchased, which proved to be in good condition, i went back for this one. same notes as last time. lemon color. no golden hues. generous in the nose and the mouth. rich ripe fruit. typical cali chard with hints of butter and citrus. pleasant amount of oak. paired well with fish and summer salad. i believe the retailer is sold out at this point.

At first? I have to admit that this wine seemed a bit over-extracted, stewed even. But the first glass I had was far too warm, so I plopped it back in the fridge and waited. Upon revisit? Different animal--still a rather big, Cali-style chard with creaminess and oak, but it seemed to be better balanced (might be the first time I have ever said to make sure a white is cold...). Over all a very nice wine--just not one to share with the ABC crowd! thedrunkencyclist.com

Not nearly as enjoyable as last January when I last opened a bottle. The finish has become very abrupt and disjointed. I think the richness has faded and is now sharper. As a result of all of this, the alcohol is now more prevalent. Decent, but no longer good.
