  Very dark Tuscan blend with a vigorous but a fleeting flavor a touch fruit on the tongue, then a tart exceedingly dry finish. The Tannin has taken over in this wine I don't see how it will. It is as good as it will be right now. I'm going to let it breath this evening and see if it improve. 82, way off the mark

  Carpineta got such a positive review in WS's Italy issue this fall that I was interested when this came up for $20. Unfortunately this was not really even worth that much, much less the asking price at retail. Perhaps recent vintages are better, but I won't seek any out.
  Nose - initially cabernet nose, if in a somewhat muted, more earth and leather toned Italian sense
  
  Then - Nose and Palate really do pick up a strong band-aid note. It isn't bad, but is interesting how pervasive it seems.
  
  Could use better acidity I think.
  
  This doesn't seem in danger of fading, just seems to not be too complex or interesting, if still solid and well-enough made. Just didn't excite me too much.
  
  Will have to check on the last glass tonight and see if anything has changed.
