Expected more from 2005 and Rothschild. Pretty dark color. Nose is light with currant. A little sweet with currant on palates. A little spicy and tannins. Doesn't last long. Medium to light body. Could have a better choice with the price.

We really enjoyed this wine. Opened it about 1 hour before serving. Considering we paid around $15 a bottle nothing to complain about. It's been maturing nicely over the past few years.

Black currant, hints of herb on the nose. Simple currant and plum flavors, with black licorice, and a medium finish. Not special, but there is bordeaux restraint and balance. No real depth or power.

SMELL: Initially, somewhat stinky. Reminds me of cheap Italian wine. After about five minutes it started to open up and the raspberries and strawberries really came through. After about an hour the fruit gave way to a leathery/oak smell. Somewhat pleasant on the nose. Not overwhelming. TASTE: Full tannins on the finish. Full bodied with lots of dark fruit. Not too bad. Expected more from a 2005 Bordeaux.

Unimpressive. Much better QPRs from 2005 Bordeaux.
