Wine: 2022 Ihana Shiraz(Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale) Revision 1: edited by LindsayM on 5/16/2024 (view) | Specifications HISTORY IHANA - Finnish for wonderful or fantastic - a word Valtteri reserves for the truly exceptional. The collaboration of Valtteri Bottas x Oliver’s Taranga is just that - a celebration of competitive craftsmanship. The stubborn pursuit of excellence is a common thread for Valtteri Bottas and sixth generation grape grower Corrina Wright. And a wine made by two such driven perfectionists was only ever going to be ‘Ihana’, the very word uttered on Valtteri’s first taste. Finding a second home in South Australia, Valtteri’s love for exploring our landscapes and wine regions has led to an inevitable conclusion; the wines of these rolling McLaren Vale vineyards are amongst the very best in the world. AROMA All dusty chopped chocolate, cherry berry, vanilla and roasted meats. WINE & VINTAGE 2022 was another cracking vintage in McLaren Vale. A long, cool ripening period and no heatwaves meant that we had plenty of opportunity to ripen the Shiraz perfectly. PALATE Stewed figs and berry compote, rum and raisin, more dusty chocolate and sour cherry on the palate. Charry delicious tannin. SMALL BATCH PRODUCTION 5000 COLOUR Bright Maroon ALCOHOL 14.5% |

Wine: 2023 Crawford River Riesling(Australia, Victoria, Western Victoria, Henty) Revision 2: edited by LindsayM on 5/15/2024 (view) | About this vintage from the winemaker: “It has always fascinated me how the vineyard ‘wins in the end’, as my father often reminded me. In spite of seasonal conditions, with careful and astute handling in the winery, the wine typically evolves to reflect the site on which it is gown, regardless of the year. The Vigneron in me has always appreciated this philosophy. 2023 was a difficult growing year, but the wine is fine, pure, complex and has a distinct Crawford River stamp.” Belinda Thomson, Vigneron. Citrus is the dominant feature throughout this wine, in many guises. Soft, lemon curd elements on the nose, with edges of Kaffir lime and pink grapefruit to closely follow. Fresh lime zest and pretty talc are supported by white florals and pith-like textural quality. The palate is complex, long and even, with the chalky, supple texture lending integrity and wonderful length. Crawford River through and through, with many years ahead of it. Fresh, lively acidity and balanced weight is key to its drinkability now and longevity into the future. |

Family: Crawford River Riesling(Australia, Victoria, Western Victoria, Henty) Revision 1: edited by LindsayM on 5/15/2024 (view) | The fruit for this wine is sourced from the oldest parts of the vineyard. In 1975/6 our first Riesling blocks were planted on two gentle ridges lying side by side. Sharing a similar NNW aspect and very similar soil composition, both blocks have a dominance of gravelly, ironstone-rich, free draining clay loam. A further block planted in 1977 tends to a WNW aspect, has less gravel, more sandy loam, and closer proximity to its limestone base. We find the combined expression of these soils show white florals aromatically and layers of mineral, textural intensity throughout the palate. The clone is G198. This vintage was made with 100% whole-bunch pressed fruit to enhance textural depth, largely due to the cool nature of the season. A natural settle in tank preceded a combination of spontaneous and inoculated fermentation – predominantly in stainless steel. After cool fermentation, the wine spent an average of 6 weeks on lees prior to racking, sulphur addition and blending. |

Wine: 2021 Robert Keenan Winery Chardonnay(USA, California, Napa Valley, Spring Mountain District) Revision 1: edited by Cesare on 5/14/2024 (view) | Specs Alcohol: 13.9% pH: 3.39 Residual Sugar: Dry Total Acidity: 0.66 grams/100ml Bottling Date: 05/05/2022 Production: 2,370 Cases Tasting Notes The finished wine shows citrus, ripe pear, and green apple in the nose. Hints of lush white peach are noticed as the wine opens up. The sur-lie aging has added richness and complexity, and a touch of toasty oak returns to the finish. Like all of Keenan’s wines, this Chardonnay is a food-worthy wine whose crisp acidity and medium body will accompany a wide variety of cuisine. Vineyard Notes Keenan’s 2021 Chardonnay was hand-harvested, de-stemmed, and then gently pressed. The juice was fermented and aged in French and American oak barrels. The wine was left on the lees and the barrels were stirred weekly. No secondary, or malolactic fermentation was carried out, leading to the crisp, citrus character of this wine. The wine was bottled after approximately seven months of aging in the cellar. “This has a chalky character with sliced apples and pears and hints of lemon zest and dried herbs. Medium- to full-bodied with a creamy, weighty palate, yet the crisp acidity adds freshness and tone. Lingering, textural finish with hints of caramel and pastry. Drink or hold.” –James Suckling |

The grapes for this classic blend of grenache, mataro and shiraz are sourced from several family vineyards throughout McLaren Vale.
Mataro is grown near Willunga, in the south, on slate soil, whereas the Grenache and Shiraz are grown on the northern end of the Coriole estate on terra rossa soils.
"Dancing Fig" refers to the many species of fig, fruiting and ornamental, that are grown at Coriole.
