  • N.V. Jean François Mérieau Touraine J'ose les Fines Bulles - France, Loire Valley, Touraine
How do I always forget how good this wine is? Bright, tasty, clean, and fun. (88 pts.)
  • 2007 Claude Riffault Sancerre Les Pierrottes - France, Loire Valley, Upper Loire, Sancerre
I don't like this as much as the '08 Boucards. Almost a slight oxidative thing going on.
  • 2005 Domaine du Viking Vouvray Tendre - France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Vouvray
What an interesting wine. Never would have guessed Vouvray or even Chenin on the funktastic nose. This is wild stuff. Tons of earthy components on both the nose and palate. A little sweetness on the palate. Just crazy. This is someone who is just doing his own thing. (90 pts.)
  • 2008 Triennes Rosé - France, Provence, Var
Shows a little elegance. Holding up well. I was pretty happy with this, but then tried the '09 which steps it up quite a bit. (87 pts.)
  • 2009 Triennes Rosé - France, Provence, Var
This really brings a new level as compared to the pleasant '08, soft and beautiful wine. 89-90 (90 pts.)
  • 2007 Domaine Saint Nicolas Fiefs Vendéens Rouge - France, Loire Valley, Pays Nantais, Fiefs Vendéens
Some richness on the nose. On the palate, this is an earthy, salty Pinot Noir. Light to medium bodied. Really good, but not fruit forward. (90 pts.)
  • 2009 Jean François Mérieau Gamay Touraine Le Bois Jacou - France, Loire Valley, Touraine
8/7/10: Spices. Rich and delicious. Well balanced, hints of chalk, really unbelievable stuff for the price. The vintage seems to have brought a richness and lushness to the palate not available in other vintages. 89

7/28/10: light and juicy aromatics. The palate is something else all together, almost Rhonish in quality. Tons of spice including hits of black pepper. Richer then previous vintages, a little funk. Unbelievable wine, and really brings it for less then $15. (89 pts.)
  • 2007 Frederic Mabileau Bourgueil - France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Bourgueil
Funky, earthy goodness. Very well balanced. 88+ (88 pts.)
  • 2008 Le Paradou Grenache - France, Vin de France
Spices. nice fruit. Solid little value at $12. (86 pts.)
