White Burg Flight

  • 2002 Jean Boillot & Fils Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
    Light lemon yellow color; lovely, refined, lemon, mineral nose; some reductino, creamy textured, tart lemon, mineral, rich citrus palate; medium-plus finish 93+ points (93 pts.)
  • 2002 Domaine Matrot Meursault 1er Cru Charmes - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
    Light medium lemon yellow color; intriguing, tart apple, sesame oil, reduction nose; heavy reduction, maderized palate (apparently heat damaged) (FLAWED)

1998 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Flight

  • 1998 Domaine du Pégau Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
    Bricking medium dark red violet color; lovely, dried cherry, garrigue, light brett nose; tasty, dried berry, garrigue, mineral, tobacco, brett palate with grippy tannins; medium-plus finish 93+ points (93 pts.)
  • 1998 Le Vieux Donjon Châteauneuf-du-Pape - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
    Bricking medium dark red violet color; a bit porty, chocolate pudding, licorice nose; tart dried berry, licorice, tar palate; medium finish (possible heat damage?) (92 pts.)

1964 Barolo Flight

  • 1964 Alessandro Rivetto Barolo Riserva Speciale - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo
    Bricked light-medium brown red color with clear meniscus; intriguing, roast duck, autumnal nose; dried berry, autumnal, dried cherry palate with firm, resolved tannins; long finish (94 pts.)

    Bricked light-medium orange red color with 1 millimeter clear meniscus; VA, light cherry, blood orange nose; very tasty, autumnal, sweet, blood orange, dried cherry, nutty palate; medium-plus finish (93 pts.)

1985/1986 Bordeaux Flight

    Dark red violet color; tart cassis, tart black fruit, beef jus, ethereal nose; tart black fruit, rich beef jus, iodine, tart hoisin sauce, mulberry palate with firm tannins; long finish 94+ points (best bottle of this I've had, by far) (94 pts.)

Sweet Finish
