  • 1992 Ridge Lytton Springs - USA, California, Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley
Lighter red than the other wines in this tasting. Raspberry nose. A little bit medicinal. Plums, mushrooms. Very tasty. Tasted blind. Correctly guessed as a Zin.
    My #1, Group's #2 (92 pts.)
  • 1992 La Jota Petite Sirah - USA, California, Napa Valley, Howell Mountain
Darker red than the other wines in the lineup. Fantactic nose with a good concentration of fruits and herbs. Refreshing palate. Tannic. Still feels like a young wine. Tasted blind. Correctly guessed as a Petite Sirah.
    My #2, Group's #1 (91 pts.)
  • 1992 Edmunds St. John Syrah Grand Heritage - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Valley
Nice raspberry aroma with a little bit of brett (borderline acceptable). Lots of brett on the palate (too much). Tasted blind. Correctly guessed as a Syrah.
    My #5, Group's #5 (87 pts.)
  • 1992 Dehlinger Cabernet Franc - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley
Nice nose with a hint of chocolate. Average palate. A little bit oxidized. Seems to be past its drinking window... Tasted blind.
    My #7, Group's #3 (86 pts.)
  • 1992 Duckhorn Vineyards Merlot Napa Valley - USA, California, Napa Valley
Lot's of (bad) brett. Watery palate. Definitely corked. Tasted blind.
    My #8, Group's #8 (FLAWED)
  • 1992 Topolos Alicante Bouschet - USA, California, Sonoma County
My first experience with this grape... Dark red. Sweet nose. Seems to be past its prime. Tasted blind.
    My #3, Group's #6 (88 pts.)
