Nose of very ripe, forward strawberry, cherry and earth. Almost like sniffing a fruit roll. Juicy, ripe stawberry, cherry and tangy apple skin on the palate, with medium acidity and decent length. Not a lot of structure. A slight burn lingering in the mouth from alcohol. Refreshing, light bodied and definitely on the simple side, but tasty and open for business.

Lifted nose of bright, estery ripe red berries, with notes of strawberry liqueur and tree bark. Palate is mostly closed down, giving a watery, light-bodied mouthfeel, but one can discern good freshness and well balanced acidity. Comes to life on the back palate, with more red berries and earth. Some very subtle, slightly astringent tannin hides the finish, but some earthy flavors linger on the palate. A quite good wine hiding here, i think.

Nose is a little muted, but gives nuances of red fruits, with a darker tone. Tastes of gentle, almost sappy red fruits, with well integrated crisp acids. Super juicy. Finishes with some soil notes. This drinks very well today, but is more sneakily structured than the Bouvier Marsannay. Drink or hold.

Ruby nearly to the rim, this is the darkest so far of these wines. Nose of red fruits, olallieberry, some spicy oak, a little vanillan. Very primary, tasting of juicy red vine fruits, with lots of structured tannin that seems derived from wood. Medium(+) bodied with good acid, this is a less delicate style, with more extraction evident. Finishes rather tannic, tasting mostly of oak spice. Seems well made, but needs time to integrate the oak.
- 2005 Domaine d'Ardhuy Aloxe-Corton - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Aloxe-Corton
Ruby, turning fuschia at the rim. The nose is dominated by high toned red fruit and a sort of odd spice aroma. Not pickle, not pine tar, just unusual. On the palate, a slightly creamy, oaky mouthfeel, with flavors of super tangy red fruit and very savory green tobacco. Much more savory and vegetal than the other wines here, perhaps rustic but not unripe or green. Lightly structured, with good length and slightly astringent tannin. This should drink well sooner than the Langres or the Aux Clous, but i'd be inclined to hold for now.
- 2005 Domaine d'Ardhuy Corton-Renardes - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton Grand Cru
Dark ruby, lightening at the rim. Nose of sweet, ripe cherry concentrate, and some toasty oak. There is also a volatile, essential oil-like aromatic red-fruit component that is alternatingly sweet and bitter, quite fascinating. This wine is just flat-out aromatic, a little like simultaneously smelling a freshly-baked cherry pie, but also all parts of the fresh cherry: the fruit, the pit, the stem. Reluctantly i lifted my nose from the glass and finally tasted. Rich, concentrated red fruit flavors, with good acidity and some well-integrated oak spice. Luxuriously full, sappy midpalate, and a long, sweet fruit finish with some oak tones. Really great depth overall.
