My first Bonarda Piedmonese, and it impressed. If this bottle is representative, Bonarda can give Nebbiolo, Tempranillo, and Chenin Blanc a run for the money in terms of aging potential. Full of crisp red fruit and savory mushroom, no one would guess it was approaching sixty. (272 views)

Decanted an hour or so before drinking. Cork soaked 3/4 through
Red fruit (cherry, raspberry), nice floral- strong rose, spice, soy, good acidity. Lingering finish. Probably on the downward slope but still really enjoyable. (192 views)

Cellaraid Discovery Box; 5/19/2017-5/26/2021 (Delivered to Home): Medium garnet, with significant browning and fading on edges. Fairly intense nose with ripe red cherry, cool mint, pepper and Chinese herbs. Initial attack on palate was one of tart acids and peppery flavours, whist tannins still biting and medium bodied, and also with overripe dried cherry flavours, herbs, and hint of cooking spices, and hint of tar towards the back. Quite lengthy and complex. Nice! (535 views)

Magnificent. My last of 5 bottles, and easily the best. Like a mature Bordeaux, for example, it had the aromas that a great wine at its absolute peak of maturity emits. The palate, too, was completely in the zone. I'd had this nearly two years ago, I rated it highly recommended, this performance was even greater than that; I feel really lucky. Medium-bodied, but carries itself as a full-bodied wine - in the best of ways. If this bottle was any indication (easily the best of the 5 bottles I owned), it's going to hold here another 5-7 years no problem, likely more. 13,0% abv. highly recommended
