Light browning with overall good color with clear edges, certainly on the way down but still enjoyable. From .750L @ 20 Years old. No real fruit on the nose after 45 min. Becomes alcohol and some what oxidized. Medium sediment in the bottle. Taste is what saves it. Wine is sweet, showing good extraction and quality with medium acidity. Drink up. $30/USD at auction. Big nose of clove and cassis. Concentrated, fleshy and slightly jammy dark fruit with mild tannins and a medium finish. Compared to the other notes I’m going with starting to fade but still very drinkable albeit not my style. I’m not typically a Cali Cab fan, more old world bordeaux, so my palate is likely tainted. This is still going strong: mature, showcasing cooked and stewed black fruits, with grainy tannins and medium acidity providing structure and balance. Tertiary notes provide complexity. Good concentration and intensity. Long finish. Although in the mature phase, I don’t see this fading soon, it should provide pleasure for another 2-5 years. (211 views)

Mid-dark purple, brick edges; berries, cedar, herbaceous Cabernet nose; mid-body; balanced; softening tannins; good varietal fruit; mid-plus intensity; long round, ripe, slightly hot (14.2 alc.) finish. w/short ribs. 16.5-17 UC Davis scale, 91-92 other scales. This was our final Bisou, unless I can somehow find more this year or next. Consistent with earlier tasting notes, these cabs from James Johnson are lights-out. I think the enjoyable drinking window might go to 2022 for this one and the '08, but I would not hold much longer than that. Very good right now. Cheers! (1246 views)

Muted nose of crushed red fruit, some earth. Dense, mouth coating, dark cherry, dark chocolate, chewy. Drinking beautifully with a little air, best at ~65F, loses viscosity and a touch of heat becomes noticeable as it warms. Drink or hold. (1361 views)
