A steal from WineBid. Tattered label and depressed cork. Plenty of sediment so decanted off for 30min, back to bottle, then to a restaurant.

Gorgeous mature nose of fallen leaves and dried earth. Hints of complex fruit in the back. The palate shows absolutely beautiful integration of fruit and earth. Tannins and soft and fully integrated and provide a supple structure. Finish is complex and tertiary with leather and aged mixed berry compote.

Glorious for an appellation level 30yo wine. Really stole the show. (52 views)

Perfect fill level and cork. Nice healthy red in color, with no browning on the rim. Still primary and youthful at 30 years of age. Full of red fruit and pepper. Plump and juicy. Doesn't Petite Sirah ever age? (147 views)

This was really nice. We drank this with a 1987 Groth, showing the boys so older California wines. This was dark red to black fruited. With the darkest cherry and cherry skin, and blackberry. It tame and wild at the same time, like a cultivated blackberry patch. (I like Beuker’s use of Brambly). There was earth, and some spice hints. Enjoyed with Flannery Jorges! I wish I would have bought more of these when I had the chance. (123 views)

Bought a few of these years back. Thought that it might improve with a few years. This bottle showed up while poking around in the cellar and tonight we had it.
Wine was good! Smooth and all flavors were well integrated. I would wish we had a few more! (77 views)

With a sopping wet cork that only came out using a Durand knock-off, this could have gone either way. This went the good way - plenty of fruit remaining and tons of complexity form the age. Kept opening up more and more over the couple hours this was open. A great bottle. (140 views)

Dark garnet in color with some slight bricking & clearing at the edges. Nose was initially funky showing stewed prune notes which eventually evolved with airing into a full, fragrant & attractive nose of ripe fruits aromas of cherries, blackberries & plums with spices, some briary notes, herbs, pepper, minerals & oak/vanilla. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blackberries & blueberries with spices, herbs, minerals & a slight touch of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with extended airing. At 30 years of age, it's at its pinnacle of development, so drink up. (104 views)
