2021 Domaine Chevrot Santenay 1er Cru Clos Rousseau (France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Santenay 1er Cru) 5/24/2024gparker77791

Vibrant march violet in the glass. Ninety minutes after opening the aroma is sweet red cherries, raspberries and strawberries complemented with some earthy notes and hint of spice. Medium body with plenty of acidity and active tannins. It finishes quite long and dry with lingering fruitiness, liquorice and pepper. Lacking some elegance that may improve with further bottle aging. (2 views)

2015 Loring Wine Company Pinot Noir Clos Pepe Vineyard (USA, California, Central Coast, Sta. Rita Hills) 5/24/2024timewithwine

The usual “Loring purple” is no more, at least in this bottle. The wine is bricked at the edges and maroon at the core. The nose is full with black cherry, maybe some cranberry, definite cola, and faint vanilla. Bright on the palate with plenty of fruit. But the finish is short. Two years ago, when I first tasted this wine, I remarked that it could “go the distance”. Surprisingly, the tannins are not only fully resolved, but fading. So much for my expertise. With a couple more in the cellar, another data point is needed to see if this bottle is an outlier or reflective of where the wine truly is. Very little sediment at all (also in stark contrast to the last bottle). 14.3% alc. With oyster mushrooms and bacon in a balsamic sauce over tortellini. 05.23.24. Recommended with reservations. 2018 Mount Mary Pinot Noir (Australia, Victoria, Port Phillip, Yarra Valley) 5/24/2024Avid Wino95

Glides across the tongue like it hasn’t even touched and disappears in to forever. I’d say delivers a silky smooth kiss on the way through but it’s a bit like a whisper, barely sensed. Rose, strawberry jam, cranberry, forest undergrowth. Biscuit and spice and fine feathery light tannin. Tremendous length. Promise of more complexity but currently it takes the form of intrigue - tightly coiled still, at this stage more about purity, shape, and length. Can see 96 in this at some time, though I won’t go there tonight. (16 views)

2005 Domaine Ghislaine Barthod Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes (France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru) 5/24/2024yuti122594

Chambolle Musigny Les Charmes Vertical: The biggest wine this afternoon. Blackcurrant, licorice, and vanilla. Sense of soil and deep in the palate. With all that add-on, this still retains the charming side of Chambolle as its core. This would last for at least a few more decades. (18 views)

Chambolle Musigny Les Charmes Vertical: Delicately structured, with lifted palate. Lots of cherry and hawthorn. Nice balance between acidity, tannin and fruit. (21 views)

Chambolle Musigny Les Charmes Vertical: Much grander than 2014 version, yet this still shares some common in terms of delicacy. Exquisite and multi-layered on both nose and palate. (18 views)

2010 Anthill Farms Pinot Noir Comptche Ridge Vineyard (USA, California, North Coast, Mendocino County) 5/22/2024drrobvino88

Final of 2 bottles of this wine, I last drank a bottle about 3.5 yrs prior.
Matured nicely, a very good PN that is not overly ripened or too extracted.
I much prefer these cooler climate Pinot's if my choices are Calif PN.
No formal TN here. Drink through 2025 or so. (14 views)

2018 Domaine Armand Rousseau Père et Fils Chambertin (France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin Grand Cru) 5/24/2024Philip6798

Absolutely stunning. Drinking amazingly well despite it's youth. This has a wonderful depth and intensity of mulberry and damson fruits in perfect balance with a great structure of super fine tannins and moderate acidity. Very long, relatively straightforward at this stage. This really should be given 20 years to mature and evolve complexity and is likely to go through an period in which it does not show well - but right now it is singing! (25 views)
