2021 Abbotts & Delaunay Carignan Les Fleurs Sauvages Vieilles Vignes (France, Languedoc Roussillon, Vin de Pays d'Oc) 9/15/2023Joncarlstedt85

Nice and very drinkable.
Medium tanins, vanilla, blueberries, ripe blackberies, a hint of violett and black currant.
Good mouth feel, fades quickly leaving tannins and sweetness but not in an unpleasant way. A bit too sweet.
Considering the low price this is a lot of wine for the money. Great buy for middle of the week dinner wine.
Should go well with sage, thyme, duck and pasta.
I’ll probably buy a case and put in the cellar for an easy go to wine to drink now or next year. Don’t think it has much potential with age, but could probably survive and grow a bit the next few years. (326 views)

2021 Abbotts & Delaunay Carignan Les Fleurs Sauvages Vieilles Vignes (France, Languedoc Roussillon, Vin de Pays d'Oc) 7/28/2023Panta rei C2H5OH87

My first pure Cardigan. I have often had it in Rhone and Languedoc blends, but never on its own.
Medium nose of strawberry and blueberry jams. Very little secondary and tertiary notes. Reminds me of pure Primitivo and to some extent Barbera wines.
On the palate very ripe fruits and low tannins, with a short to medium aftertaste. (331 views)

2019 Abbotts & Delaunay Pinot Noir Le Village Domaine Metairie d'Alon (France, Languedoc Roussillon, Vin de Pays d'Oc) 6/3/2023La Grappe87

From the foothills of the Pyrenees, a light, vibrant Pinot Noir, with fresh red cherry fruit, some depth, good acidity and a little tannin. Good now but will keep. (172 views)

2019 Abbotts & Delaunay Limoux (France, Languedoc Roussillon, Languedoc, Limoux) 5/23/2023KrisHem88

Light Yellow
Quite fruity on the nose dominated by ripe pear, a hint of pineapple and fine mineral notes.
Medium acidity, not dry, low to medium length. Very rich taste of white fruit and ends on a bitter note.
All in all a nice chardonnay albeit very far from the classic chablis. (137 views)

2019 Abbotts & Delaunay Chardonnay Limoux Domaine de la Métairie d'Alon Le Palajo (France, Languedoc Roussillon, Languedoc, Limoux) 12/30/2022forceberry86

100% organically farmed Chardonnay from Le Palajo, the highest-altitude vineyard in the estate of Domaine de la Métrairie, located next to the village of Magrie in Limoux. Aged for eight months in 500-liter demi-muids (1/3) and smaller oak barrels (2/3), all 1-and-2 years old. Racked to tanks in late spring following the harvest, bottled a few months later. 13,5% alcohol. Bottle #3578. Tasted blind.

Medium-deep lime-green color. Fresh and somewhat linear nose of Granny Smith apple, some floral notes of apple blossom, a little bit of leesy character and a hint of creamy oak. The wine is fresh, lively and quite acid-driven on the palate with a medium body and somewhat thin flavors of Granny Smith apple and lemony citrus fruit, some leesy tones, a little bit of steely minerality, light juicy notes of white peach, a hint of apple peel bitterness and a touch of creamy oak. The bright, high acidity lends good sense of structure to the wine. The finish is lively, firm and structured with a medium-long aftertaste of lemony citrus fruits, some crunchy Granny Smith apple, a little bit of steely minerality, light floral notes of apple blossom and other white lowers, a hint of stony minerality and a bitter touch of grapefruit.

A nice and fresh but also a bit thin and linear Chardonnay. The wine is enjoyably refreshing and crunchy, but it is lacking in depth and breadth, coming across as a bit underwhelming. I guessed the wine to be a basic Chablis, so I was surprised to learn the wine was a single-vineyard Limoux. At the moment the wine is enjoyably refreshing, but otherwise offering relatively little of everything. I hope the wine fleshes out and develops some tertiary complexity with age, because this was a bit too light and simple for my preference. (799 views)
