This is blossomed into something special. A big hit with the four diners. Characteristically Washington Cabernet Sauvignon, featuring tart red fruit; there is great depth here. Sorry to see these go, and very sorry that Buty is defunct. Their/her wines were a stellar QPR. (62 views)

Still very deep red for a 17 year old wine.
Wonderful nose. A bit of funk from the rocks. Also tilled earth and deep dark fruit.
Taste is a very balanced tannin with fresh dark fruit flavors. Drank it on its own but would have gone great with grilled red meat. (107 views)

This has aged beautifully and I imagine is very near or at peak. Aromas of unbuttered popcorn, preserved lemon, light caramel, kiwi skin, cantaloupe, and pear. Full bodied with a dense, mineral-driven acid and fleshy mouthfeel. Beautiful structure and balance. Flavors include sweet lemon peel, kiwi, white peach, orchid, and flinty. The finish is decently persistent and very juicy. This is special stuff, and makes me extra sad that Buty is no longer. Drink this in the next year. (81 views)

30 minute decant. Deep inky purple color. Aromas of black cherry, smoke, red berries, pepper and herbs. Palate is medium bodied stone fruit, red berries, with savory spice and mineral notes. Tannins are soft and resolved. A touch of acid makes for a nice finish. (149 views)
