Outstanding Malbec from the Uco Valley in Argentina. Took the wine to Ruth's Chris Steak House to celebrate Valentine's Day and my wife and I loved it. Beautiful deep garnet color while decorking, rich red fruits, bold flavors, soft tannins and an elegant finish. Very well structured and balanced. (25 views)

Classic but always enigmatic… much like a full moon. Warm, smooth & infinitely stimulating with black currant, menthol & fig. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, super smooth, viscous, & rich.

Another serviceable value pick from Trapiche. This bold CS comes correct with a long stride heavy on the dark fruits. Blackberry, blackcurrant and plum dominant on the palate with vanilla, tobacco leaf, carpenter's wood and dark chocolate above and behind the jams. Full-bodied and tannic with an unapologetic finish and juicy smack that drives the notes home. Not overly complex or refined by any means, but certainly not a shy sip either. Good for the price. Deep ruby colored with slight staining and a medium viscosity (13.5% ABV). Ugh nose has somewhat muted aromas of black plum, blackberry, cedar, charcoal and baking spice. The palate is dry with a medium body and medium tannins. The lush black fruit is laced with baking spices and charred wood notes. I get a hint of coffee and a licorice note. The finish is surprisingly long for what started out as a fairly basic wine. What it lacked in complexity on the nose, it makes up for on the palate with some decent structure and ripe fruit. 89 points from me for this $10 effort gets it 4 stars. Drink till 2026 with burgers, pizza, grilled steak or even some charcuterie.

I recently stocked up my everyday reds, mainly from supermarkets and the WS with an ecletic mix of grapes and countries of origin.
This was the second of the Trapiche efforts and like the first it hardly got the taste buds racing, I never expect wonders at this price level but occasionally am more than pleasantly surprised.
I repeat Trapiche used to be a go to for cheap decent everyday Argentinian reds, this like the CS drunk recently was very disappointing, nothing about it would make me go back for more, there are a lot of very decent Malbecs for sale but this was not one of them, can't be bothered to describe as there was little to describe that had any virtue.
