Cherry, blackberry, chocolate. A dry, sweet (after it had a chance to breathe) red. Did very well with home-made pizza. (665 views) | | Tasted by E&B Wine on 6/12/2022 & rated 91 points: We drank with homemade pizza! (764 views) | | Tasted by poste244 on 2/26/2022 & rated 90 points: Très impressionnant pour un vin à 19$. Puissant, riche, beaucoup de matière. Vraiment bon! (994 views) | | Tasted by Bill B. on 11/16/2021 & rated 90 points: Great fruity nose with tastes of mature fruit, rounded tannins, vanilla. Very full bodied and jammy. Enjoyed it. Served with Roast Pork Loin and Apricot sauce. Ruby Red on the pour. Cherry aroma on the nose, carrying over to the palate with some blackberry, raspberry and plum, along with licorice and vanilla notes and characteristic Zinfandel spice. Medium bodied, but lighter than some other Primativo/Zinfandel wines. Good acidity and prominent, but not harsh, tannins. Nice feeling in the mouth with a pleasant lingering finish. Good QPR; would buy more (if I can find it). (1735 views) | | Tasted by KSWinegeek on 6/30/2021 & rated 87 points: Dark ruby red. Nose of vanilla, plum, spice and with stronger spice. Fruit forward, approachable with still vanilla and now blackberry fruit flavors. As this opens up, sweetness comes forward. Not a bad wine, just my not my style of Primitivo. For me, the oak treatment is too heavy. (968 views) | | Tasted by Holadi on 4/23/2021: Deep, pronounced. Vanilla, plums, chocolate. High acid, med tannins. Not the most complex, but beautiful with duck confit. (938 views) | | Tasted by MosheDehsoM on 2/7/2021 & rated 87 points: In other countries it should have been rated 4.5 stars, but in Israel, due to being sold by very few stores, the price is very very high! Vee good primitivo, on the mild side, very balanced and round. Usual red purple partially cloudy color. Full to medium body. Mildly aromatic, fruits and wood. Low tanines and acidity. On the palate mainly blackberries, plum, strawberries and raspberries with nice hints of oak, chocolate, vanilla. Very enjoyable but, as stated, too expensive due to overpricing in Israel. (1033 views) | | Tasted by sjbolger on 1/29/2021 & rated 89 points: Very good full bodied wine without the usual weight of a promitivo driven wine (829 views) | | Tasted by Santo’s Wine on 12/31/2020: Really enjoyed with steak dinner with Arif and Keri. Lots of fruit (630 views) | | Tasted by peteramartens on 11/7/2020: Deep dark garnet colour. Lots of ripe plum/blackberry aroma and a hint of earth. Smooth and slightly sweet initially but a nice hint of acidity and mild tannins. Finish is very dry and a bit of a port taste. High alcohol level but not really noticable. Paired fairly well with smoked/rubbed pork ribs. (780 views) | | Tasted by Freezo_de on 7/7/2020 & rated 91 points: Ruby with violet reflexions at the rim. Nose with dark fruits, vanilla and violets. Palate: Blackberries , blueberries, dark plum plus vanilla and a hint of milk chocolate. Dry. Medium Acid, silky tannins. ABV 14,5% but no hint of hotness. Fruit, acid and tannins well balanced with alcohol level. Short to medium finish. Not very complex but nice aftertaste with echo of fruit and chocolate. Drunk over three days with bottle kept at room temperature. Third day was best. I really liked the wine. (871 views) | | Tasted by gfwetzel on 3/21/2020 & rated 84 points: Nota Bene: I have never been a Zinfandel (or Primitivo) fan, so this review may be biased. The color is a deep ruby that lightens to pinkish near the edge. The aromas tend to caramelized meat and plums, with floral overtones (what a combination). The flavors are difficult to isolate: orange peel, guava, jasmine? Medium acidity and medium-heavy tannins (leaving one with dry mouth). Short-medium finish. 13% alcohol. (771 views) | | Tasted by knothoef on 8/11/2019 & rated 88 points: Full bodied. Dark colour. Some black fruit. (962 views) | | Tasted by Wholebunch on 8/5/2019: TRN Tasting
Plums, blackberry, raspberry, licorice, vanilla, juicy, nice acidity, lighter than many other primitivos (quite elegant). Food matches: BBQ. (214 views) |
