A little deeper copper color and maybe a shift from strawberry to peach as the dominant fruit, but it is still keeping up with the acidity and offering a long, grippy finish. Fresh as a mountain stream and a very nice match to sushi or tangy bbq. I went through 6 bottles in 2011, 5 bottles in 2012, and it's been solid all the way. 5+10+17+7 = 89 (2688 views) | | Tasted by fingers on 8/4/2012: The bouquet here is like unsweetened strawberry-rhubarb pie in a glass, particularly at cellar temp. As it chills, the melon and peach start to jump out. A refreshing blast of acidity and a solid base of stone provide the needed structure to make this a complete Bandol. Prime drinking this summer (3105 views) | | Tasted by G.R. on 7/22/2012 & rated 92 points: Great summer wine. Well balanced fruit, crisp finish. Good qpr (2925 views) | | Tasted by fingers on 4/28/2012 & rated 89 points: Color has taken on a touch of bronze. The nose has backed off and not nearly as intense as last year, displaying light peach and camellia flower. Palate is also much softer and the tannin no longer grips the cheeks like it once did. The great structure of stone and juicy acidity remain with flavors of peach, watermelon, straw and cran-berry, pomegranate. Will get through this summer, but probably not 2013. 5+9+17+8 = 89 (3252 views) | | Tasted by fingers on 7/31/2011: Notes from day 2 on the second half of this bottle. I think it gained better composure overnight with the extra air. Still has the nice tart grip, but it settles into the structure better. This can pair with just about any cuisine and satisfy. Really good stuff and feels like it will drink well for a couple years. (1927 views) | | Tasted by fingers on 7/16/2011 & rated 91 points: Light copper peach color. Bold bouquet of pitted fruit, apple, strawberry, kiwi, and some river rocks. Interesting feel and lightness in weight with a balance of flavor that never seems to gain the edge over the body, which I find adds some class. Acidity seems to take a smoother, rather than crisp, route to the finish. Love this and I have to ask, is there such a thing as a bad Bandol rosie? 5+11+17+8 = 91 (1592 views) | | Tasted by isaacjamesbaker on 6/11/2011 & rated 88 points: A Saturday of Wines (Washington, DC): light pink color. the nose shows lighter fruit, limes and grapefruits. the palate is a lot richer, with juicy white cherries. i got a flaor of tangerine rind, some rhubarb. really interesting rose with some unique elements. (1915 views) | | Tasted by tooch on 6/11/2011 & rated 87 points: Nice floral nose with light cranberry, and minerals. Palate had a nice density to it with good balance and complexity. (1494 views) |
