Tasted by Elvis1969 on 3/22/2024 flawed bottle: Corked. I have had this wine on more than 20 different occasion and this is the first time I have come across a defective bottle. :-( (341 views)
 Tasted by Elvis1969 on 7/29/2023 & rated 95 points: Magnum. (1161 views)
Tasted by AudunG on 5/28/2023 & rated 92 points: Packed with fruit and red berries, with some autolysis. Firm and structured. (1148 views)
 Tasted by Elvis1969 on 8/24/2022 & rated 93 points: Magnum. (2191 views)
Tasted by AllRed on 8/13/2022 & rated 93 points: Courtesy of m/m billhike. L037780J101299. Strawberry, bruised red apple, dough and red berry fruit notes. Moderate bead. Balanced. Excellent. (2096 views)
Tasted by Mbad77 on 5/19/2022: Still too young really. A good wine and wonder how it will develop. I won’t find out as that was the last mag. (2186 views)
Tasted by ginfizz on 2/13/2022 & rated 94 points: Strawberries and cream, fine mousse, reticent nose that opened to raspberry and hints of citrus. Just lovely. Stored in a cellar since release, years of life ahead. (2013 views)
Tasted by bavaur on 7/5/2021 & rated 92 points: Chilled and then served at increasingly close to room temperature over dinner. Crisp salmon, copper colour with lively fine bubbles in the glass. Crisp nose of red fruits, summer pudding and lightly baked pastry. On the palate there’s crunchy red berries and a stronger pastry note, intermingled with a nice streak of saline acidity. (2709 views)
Tasted by Jd6725 on 3/25/2021 & rated 92 points: Nice, light colored rose. Good age on it, although I might have preferred this a tad bit younger. Some light notes of strawberry and good mousse. Fell apart somewhat quickly in the glass though after 20-30 minutes. Best right out of the bottle. (2357 views)
Tasted by merlotsmile on 2/27/2021 & rated 93 points: Roederer Rosé 08 vs Henriot Rosé 08 vs Veuve Clicquot Rosé 08
Sammanfattning
Färg:
Roederer mer laxrosa
Henriot mer kopparfärgad
Veuve Clicquot mer rödaktig

Doft:
Roederer mer rödbäriga toner av jordgubb, hallon, smultron, lite blodapelsin
Henriot mer toner av mandarin, aprikos, nektarin, röda äpplen + kryddor
Veuve Clicquot mer toner av lingon, röda vinbär

Smak:
Roederer hänger ihop bäst av de tre, från attack till finish. Fin midpalate med lager på lager av röd frukt, lång finish med smultron.
Henriot bra men inte lika bra som Roederer. Hänger inte ihop lika bra från start till finish.
Veuve Clicquot syrligare, stramare, kortare finish.

Winner
Dag 1 kändes Henriot bäst.
Dag 2 definitivt Roederer. Mycket bra champagne.

2008 Louis Roederer Champagne Brut Rosé
Laxrosa i färgen
Dag 1
(2793 views)
Tasted by 1W2T on 2/14/2021 & rated 90 points: Louise Roederer Rosé 2008

70% Pinot Noir
30% Chardonnay (2255 views)
Tasted by wineian on 12/25/2020 & rated 94 points: An exceptionally fine, tasty champagne. Still has tension, a fine mousse and strawberries to linger. A perfect accompaniment to Christmas breakfast pancakes and fruit salad at a warm Australian Christmas (2749 views)
Tasted by Trydebull on 12/4/2020 & rated 91 points: Riktigt bra! Som vanligt! (2566 views)
Tasted by Elvis1969 on 8/15/2020 & rated 95 points: From a magnum. Perfect balance. Still youthful and fresh combined with toffee notes and hints of maturity. (3010 views)
Tasted by thewiz on 6/12/2020 & rated 93 points: (Disgorged in 2012, 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, dosage 8 gr/l)
Salmon pink colour with a fine stream of bubbles that lead way for the still youthful nose showing creaminess, wild strawberries and a touch of nougat and vanilla oak in a very delicious way. Fresh acidity on the still very youthful palate that transforms over a smooth mid before the long lasting creamy finish showing wild strawberries and a touch of vanilla in a beautiful way. Wow, so much youthfulness still, it will be a delight to follow over the coming decades!

Tasted by Trydebull on 4/12/2020 & rated 93 points: From magnum. Really good! Will improve- but even more mature. Really good now! (2902 views)
Tasted by NickA on 1/27/2020 & rated 91 points: 2008 Fizz n Chips (Masters Superfish): No detailed note; my main impression was of the wine's lovely balance. Rounded, juicy and fruity. One to check out properly on another occasion. (3104 views)
Tasted by Puteljen! on 11/2/2019 & rated 92 points: generously brought to dinner by a friend alonside the 2012 of the same wine. Both served half-blind. Drunk over several hours.

This is perhaps a bit closed at opening but quite quickly opens ut to reveal red berries, apple, lemon, pear and hints of peach. Also a touch of nougat and vanilla. Not too toasty. Fine mousse, very smooth and just a touch of sweetness, balanced by bright acidity and a chalky, steely minerality. Long. Very nice.

Initally I prefered this over the 2012 but the latter caght up towards the end of the evening when it was the better wine. The 2008 is ready to go but can be cellared further with perhaps some upside. (3073 views)
Tasted by champagnedoktoren on 8/20/2019 & rated 92 points: Great tension. Citrus and fresh red berries are predominant with some toast in the background. Still too young but I’m sure that the potential is there. 92 (95) (3176 views)
Tasted by Mbad77 on 8/4/2019 & rated 93 points: From magnum and took a good while to open up. At first was a bit edgy and tight but nose and palate changed into previous experiences. An excellent rose and a number of years ahead of it I imagine, certainly from magnum. (2896 views)
Tasted by Elvis1969 on 7/20/2019 & rated 93 points: From a magnum. Perfect as always. (2707 views)
Tasted by SimonG on 7/18/2019 & rated 92 points: Initially served a long title too warm which muddied and muddled it. When cooler this regained the mineral line and poise I remember. Good light red fruit, less strawberry than previously. Lovely, and developing nicely. **** (2493 views)
Tasted by hajoha on 7/6/2019 & rated 92 points: Langt mer modning enn en flaske for et år siden.
Denne begynner å bli virkelig bra nå. (2436 views)
Tasted by M.S.L. on 12/31/2018 & rated 96 points: A beautiful wine. Nose with sweet raspberry and vanilla scents. Excellent mouthfeel with good extract and length. That this is not the top cuvée says a lot about the quality of the vintage and producer. Excellent! (2646 views)
Tasted by Elvis1969 on 12/29/2018 & rated 94 points: Ytterligare en gudomlig flaska av denna fullträff. (2606 views)

France - When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of consistent quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them. Click for a list of bestselling items from all of France.
Sub-Region:

Champagne - The French region of Champagne (including the cities of Rheims, Épernay, and Aÿ) was the first region in the world to make sparkling wine in any quantity. Today, the name of the region is synonymous with the finest of all sparkling wines, and wine-making traditions of Champagne have become role models for sparkling wine producers, worldwide. Surprisingly, the region of Champagne is now responsible for only one bottle in 12 of all sparkling wine produced. Styles of champagne range in sweetness ranging from an extra brut or brut 0, to the basic brut to demi sec to doux; some houses produce single vintage champagnes and others produce non-vintage (or incorporate wines/grapes of multiple vintages), often to preserve a specific taste; combinations of grape varietals; and colors, including a rosé. There are several sub-appellations, including the Valley of the Marnes river running from Épernay west, Massif de Saint-Thierry north and west of Rheims, Valley of the Ardre, the Mountains of Rheims (between Rheims and Épernay), Côte des Blancs, Côte de Sézanne, and Côte des Bar in the South. Champagne wine only uses three grape varietals (cépages): Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.
