Tasted by KeepHer on 8/30/2023: Looks nice.

Palate had phases but it definitely ends great.

Pretty decent PnP. Well integrated oak. Rich not gawdy and plenty of fruit.

Mid-bottle was mostly miss. The oak tasted off or the sweetness was off the charts.

Last third of the bottle all flavors (oak, spice, fruit) came to a beautiful peace. All the bad qualities of mid-bottle went away and only the best qualities remained. Very nice. Effortless balance. (535 views)
Tasted by Herb K on 8/12/2023: Wine was amazing snd we'll balanced with tannins, acidity snd fruiy. still peaking and can continue developing for some time before it peaks. (467 views)
Tasted by dlcass on 9/4/2022 & rated 95 points: Lovely wine. Expressive acidity and body. Dark fruit with mocha, and leather. Nice finish; expressive character. (1119 views)
Tasted by apg23 on 2/28/2022 & rated 88 points: Too tight and intense for me. I probably should have decanted. This is not the first time I have reached this conclusion with Dana. I like bold Napa cabs, but I just can’t get right on this one. Just not for me. (1217 views)

Tasted by SAS54 on 1/28/2018 & rated 94 points: Strong front palette, bright fruit, including blackberry and raspberry, soft mid-palette, mineral and tannic finish. (4636 views)
Tasted by joshabramson on 10/30/2017 & rated 95 points: My first sip after pouring this wine was super tight and intense, I wasn't sure what to think. After just a few minutes of air though it really started to open up and is showing beautifully in spite of its youth. Firm but fine and extremely focused tannins balanced with very rich and concentrated fruit. This is wonderful, exactly what I'm looking for in a napa cab. (4598 views)
Tasted by Parkster on 9/18/2016 & rated 91 points: Took a while to open up but boy was it good. Great balance, strong yet smooth, nice dark fruits with very polished tannins, especially for it's age. (5747 views)
Tasted by Millennial Drinkers on 8/9/2016 & rated 92 points: Thanks Steve this was a real treat! Super dark purplish ruby red. Some light tobacco and red cherries on the nose, still pretty tight. Heavy tannins (8/10) and full bodied. Great structure and backbone coated with red cherries, raspberries, and dark cocoa leaves. Slightly dry, with a little minerality in the long finish. This is still a baby that will only get better with more time! Drink till 2034.

Tasted by kemorr on 4/23/2016 & rated 97 points: This wine is young, but already drop dead gorgeous. Decanted for about an hour and drank over 2 more. Deep purple/black color, beautiful nose, soft blue black fruits, maybe a hint of dark chocolate, some kind of non fruit flavor in the mid palate that i could never quite pin down, a finish that lasted longer and longer as the night went on and it kept improving up to the last sip. Will try to hold onto other bottles for a while, but will be hard, this was sublime. (5196 views)
Tasted by jjfitz96 on 11/25/2015 & rated 95 points: This wine is still young, but has a great balance. You get the fruit forward Napa power and the finish is still very consistent. It is more of a special occasion wine, so I am storing the others, but the bottle that I tried did not disappoint. (3689 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
