Tasted by EHB on 8/15/2020 & rated 92 points: Good wine. Notes of cherry/raspberry and oak. Tastes like oak and leather with a little fruit. Great smooth tannins. Decanted for 45 minutes. Could go another year. (754 views)
Tasted by vinomex on 6/8/2018 & rated 93 points: Brought to Landmarc NYC, had it with filet mignon. This wine is at its peak, more nuanced than previous bottle, a little more smoky, full body, ripe but not pruny. Very enjoyable. (1773 views)
Tasted by vinomex on 10/26/2017 & rated 93 points: 30-45 min decant. I'm glad I opened this bottle, even though many reviewers have written that this Trinchero has a long life ahead, in my view it is approaching the right level of maturity that brings out the characteristics of an aged wine while retaining a youthful soul. Rich in flavor, dark and full body. A beauty of a cab, it fully coats your mouth with dark fruit and tobacco, and the long finish and flavors just linger. This one can go it alone or can be had with an aged prime steak. I plan to drink my next bottle in the next twelve months, I see no reason to let this one age much further. (1895 views)
Tasted by Mossrose on 8/11/2017 & rated 95 points: Kept open for 4 days, this 10 year old wine is beginning to show how great this high altitude Cabernet Sauvignon will be. Black to the edge with delightful aromas of black cherry and black currant. The sip leaves a velvet red carpet through the mouth. The swallow is expansive and mouth coating. Overall, deliciously fruity, smooth tannin, refreshing acidity, complex, concentrated, and well integrated. (170 views)
Tasted by rharl on 2/24/2017 & rated 95 points: Wow. PnP and opened up fairly quickly, then consumed over 2 hours -- incredibly fruitful, almost like candy, despite orange around the edges. Speaks to letting even a moderately-priced but well-made cab age out ten years. (2382 views)
Tasted by salcorn on 2/14/2016 & rated 93 points: Oak, mint and vanilla on the nose. Excellent chewy backbone of tannins. Fairly tightly wound medium length tannic finish. Has quite a few years left, perhaps not even at par yet. (2577 views)
Tasted by gtm on 11/30/2015 & rated 93 points: drinking beautifully right now, 30 min. decant (2076 views)
Tasted by Magic Slim on 6/24/2013: Way too early. Staunch is the correct word to describe the tannin. Complex, fruit driven will be even more pleasurable in a few years (4085 views)
Tasted by texaswino on 4/12/2013 & rated 93 points: This has many years ahead of it. Has barely moved from 2+ years ago. Decant. Lovely red and black fruit with nice minerality and staunch tannin. (4203 views)
Tasted by suarezd on 2/26/2013 & rated 93 points: Opened 30 minutes before pouring. Complex palate of red fruits, minerals, chocolate, and fat. Medium tannins and acidity. Excellent! (3720 views)
Tasted by canefan on 2/1/2013 & rated 90 points: Nice wine. (3166 views)
Tasted by bobpsi on 9/25/2012 & rated 93 points: Similar to previous notes, moving up. (3565 views)
Tasted by bobpsi on 6/12/2012 & rated 92 points: Similar to previous notes. (1918 views)
Tasted by bobpsi on 9/7/2011 & rated 92 points: Wine tasting. Big nose of black and blue fruits with caramel, spice notes. Sweet black currants, coffe and vanilla notes. Big drying tannins, needs some time. (2614 views)
Tasted by Omadobs on 1/28/2011 & rated 93 points: Wow. This haystack is stacked and packed. Dense blueberry, coffee, and cherry flavors. Has the tannins to go at least 10+ years. Other reviewers hit the nail on this one--great now but likely will be better in 4-6 years. Trinchero hit this one out of the park. (3479 views)
Tasted by texaswino on 12/12/2010 & rated 94 points: Black purple color as its poured into the glass. Very promising. Aromatics also very promising, dark chocolate, cassis, black fruit.
Full bodied, well structured tannins. This is going to be amazing in a couple of years but is pretty amazing now. Outstanding value Napa Cabernet. (3658 views)
Tasted by Hamilton1 on 10/18/2010 & rated 92 points: Tannic at the moment, needs long decanting. Has great potential- will save remaining bottles for a couple of years. (2307 views)
Tasted by D&JCaraway on 5/10/2010 & rated 92 points: Amazing wine...full bodied Napa Cab... Rich blackberry with well structured tannins. Needs to breathe for at least 1.5 hours. Would love to taste this one again in about 3 years. (3610 views)
Tasted by dan_hess on 4/25/2010 & rated 92 points: This was an impressive wine. Full of blackberry with a nice structure of tannins. Good balance. Atlas Peak is becoming a favorite appellation! I was pleased with the $40 spent. (3785 views)

Trinchero Napa Valley:
The pinnacle of the Trinchero Family Estates portfolio, Trinchero Napa Valley delivers limited-production, estate-grown wines that honor the legacy of founder Mario Trinchero.
Wines bearing the Trinchero Napa Valley label are luxury-class, predominantly single-vineyard wines from the family's Napa Valley estates. Grapes are sourced from 200+ acres
of estate vineyards in prime Napa Valley appellations, including St. Helena, Mt. Veeder, Rutherford and Atlas Peak. Nestled north of the town of St. Helena, the winery is a work
of art unto itself. Every detail of its design was conceived to create wines of exceptional caliber. Renowned winemaker Mario Monticelli handcrafts more than 12 different wines,
with total production at merely 12,000 cases. Trinchero Napa Valley welcomes the discerning guest to experience its unwavering commitment to excellence. The Trinchero Napa
Valley portfolio includes Sauvignon Blanc, two Merlots, six Cabernet Sauvignons, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Meritage.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
