Community Tasting Notes (average 84.4 pts. and median of 88 pts. in 18 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by redbrix on 12/11/2021 & rated 85 points: Red brown and cloudy. May have been past its peak. Cherry and muted nose. Cherry with sweet tones. medium bodied. (887 views)
Tasted by Henman on 12/16/2017 & rated 83 points: Decent nose of ripe jammy black fruit and some minerals. Medium to full bodied, sweet and smooth with gentle tannins, delivering jammy blackberries with some licorice on the finish. It has some acidic structure but still leaves a flabby and generic impression. Not a food wine and not suited for desserts either. Perhaps best for getting drunk cheaply. (4882 views)
Tasted by Bigjohn2017 on 12/11/2017 & rated 88 points: Sehr gute Note von Beeren (5008 views)
 Tasted by forceberry on 11/10/2017 & rated 63 points: 14,5% alcohol, 14 g/l residual sugar, 6,4 g/l acidity.

Very youthful, translucent cherry color with a faint purple hue. Very sweet and jammy crowdpleaser nose with cloying aromas of strawberry jam, plum marmalade, some overripe cherries and a little bit of vanillin. The wine is smooth, soft and ridiculously jammy on the palate with round, mellow flavors of cherry marmalade, overripe strawberry and some vanilla. Medium acidity, no tannins to speak of. The finish feels cheap, flabby and short with unctuous and almost sticky flavors of strawberry jam, cherry marmalade, some blackberry marmalade and a bit of vanilla.

Ugh. A horrible concoction. Like a red wine with training wheels for people who think red wines are "too sour" or something along those lines. It tastes just excessively sweet and has no structure to make it any more palatable. Keep your distance from this wine. A total rip-off at 12,99€. (5294 views)
Tasted by Homer Holland on 4/15/2017 & rated 88 points: FE VI srl., Femar Vini, Gran Appasso, Rosso Passito, IGT Puglia, Italy, 2015
14,5%
Femar Vini ligt in Monte Porzio Catone, zo’n 20 km ten zuidoosten van Rome in Latium (according to WiB)
Appassimento-wijnen zijn de Amarone-wijnen uit het noorden van Italië (according to WiB, but according to me from south/eastern Italy)
Appassimento-procédé: de druiven drogen aan de struik
gedroogde primitivo- en negroamarodruiven
fermentatie in een roestvrijstalen tank met lange maceratie
de rijping vindt ook in de roestvrijstalen tanks plaats
Luca Maroni 98/99 Punten: "This wine brights for exceptional richness and smoothness, it delights our senses with its enveloping fruitiness, with its endlessly recalling balsamic minty blackberries. Pulpy silkiness to the touch, meaty but still, as a whole, harmoniously mellow. It is a sample whose viticultural and oenological caliber has few equals, caliber that its aromatic load effuses with absolute, glycerinous paramount ripeness of berries. This year’s best red, chapeau." (for me the rating and 'this year’s best red' is to much honour for this wine)
You have to like somewhat sweet wines, but than you will love this one.
A type of very light amarone and with the sweetness of a Spätlese (late harvest) wine
very well made, no faults
14,5% is well integrated
not very complex or long lasting, but very enjoyable and drinkable
great on it's own and ideal with sweet food, f.i. with red fruit or chocolate desserts
The body is (light to) medium. The wine has juicy texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity. (7804 views)
Tasted by GTFreek on 3/23/2017: Medium nose shows black plum, candied blackberry, black pepper, anise. Palate is sweet in style, candied white raisins, blueberry, blackberry, cinnamon, medium plus tannins. A little simple but strong flavors. Kind of a fruit bomb but then it has structure too on the finish. Not much mid-palate. Too sweet for me but I could see it's use for some. Nice QPR for what it is. (7389 views)
Tasted by Perlundstrom on 12/13/2016 & rated 50 points: Fruktansvärt. Luktar melass. Smakar melass. Otroligt sötsliskigt utan några som helst kvaliteter... (4858 views)
Tasted by E94flu on 11/6/2016 & rated 92 points: Kanon till grillad fläskkarré och italienskt tema (4944 views)
Tasted by E94flu on 8/1/2016 & rated 91 points: Fantastisk bouqet, bra näsa men saknar lite kropp och svans... Mycket prisvärd (5132 views)
