Tasted by WineCPA on 2/13/2024 & rated 96 points: Really smooth. Like velvet. Full bodied. Rich black fruit coating the palate. Tannins seem fully integrated. Drink now lest it turn flabby. Fantastic example of great Petit Verdot. (101 views)
Tasted by WineCPA on 4/27/2021 & rated 95 points: Tannins mellowed quite a bit here in the past 3 years. Thick black fruit remains. Perfect now. (778 views)
Tasted by Lobonick on 2/18/2020 & rated 91 points: Love this wine! Deep and tannic with bright fruit still leading the charge. Black fruit, licorice, and plum on the nose. Mouthcoating texture with big tannins that stay just on the line between rustic and too much. There's a bright eucalyptus and mint leaf note that lifts this powerful wine. Give this a few more years to be astonishing. (1005 views)
Tasted by WineCPA on 5/23/2018 & rated 95 points: This is a pure beast. Black currant and tar on the palate. Hint of menthol & cinnamon on the nose but you have to look for it. Long legs and firm tannins suggest this can go for years. The fruit is delicious now with a long finish. Giving my next at least 2-3 years. Glad I have two more. (1434 views)
Tasted by Bigfresser on 11/20/2017 & rated 90 points: Needed twenty minutes to open up. Revealing rich ripe blackberry and a soft pallet. (1666 views)
Tasted by JSGreenberg on 3/14/2016: Very good (2100 views)
Tasted by Lobonick on 10/22/2015 & rated 92 points: Fantastic expression of one of my favorite varietals in one of my favorite styles. Nose has deep spice, cedar, floral, sweet raspberry, and lots of black fruit. Palate is rich with black licorice, ripe fruit, Christmas cake spices, earth, and a fantastic-almost-rustic textural tannins. Finish is long with a slightly bitter edge. Flavors shine all across the tongue on a finish that goes on forever. I'm thinking rosemary and deep, earthy, wintery flavors to go with this...and amazing aging potential. (1595 views)
Tasted by Matt1743 on 8/24/2015 & rated 92 points: Drank with Diane's pasta. Very deep rich color and finish. (1510 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
