Tasted by jjoyce on 2/4/2009 & rated 84 points: Nose is all about raspberries, spun sugar, and grape jelly. Kind of sweet, very easy drinking wine. Nothing to get overly excited about, but certainly a pleaser to 90% of the red wine drinking public. Finish is bit one-dimensional but compared to most other old-vine Zins out of Lodi, this one is quite good! (1605 views)
Tasted by robnmo on 4/4/2008 & rated 82 points: nice nose of dark fruit. Entirely too sweet for a zin, with no tannins. Very smooth, fruit forward zin that bordered on being too fake. Sorry couldn't get past the sweetness, to truly enjoy. (1324 views)
Tasted by GB1963 on 11/25/2007 & rated 91 points: Nose a bit closed, but flavors positively explode with red fruit (especially raspberry). Mild to moderate tannins. 30 second finish. Very nice wine, one I can see drinking on a regular basis. Excellent QPR. (1453 views)
Tasted by jjoyce on 10/7/2007 & rated 85 points: Very easy drinking wine. Lots of fruit, great nose. (1859 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
