Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 91 pts. and median of 91 pts. in 22 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by juffer on 9/8/2021 & rated 92 points: Apricots, fallen apples, fresh herbs. Medium weight. Beautiful savory finish with a touch of oxidized nuttiness. (875 views)
Tasted by winemaker on 5/31/2020 & rated 92 points: Almost 8 yo and drinking great. Grapefruit, mountain herbs. Delicious. (1287 views)
Tasted by Mossrose on 11/21/2019 & rated 92 points: This wine has evolved since I drank it last. Still dry, clean, and crisp but so much more complex. Aromas of apricot and peach have appeared and are followed by pear and apple and Reine Claude. Long fruity finish w/o any sweetness. Glad I can keep cellaring the last bottle. (1516 views)
Tasted by christyler on 8/18/2018: Getting tired. I prefer these on release. (2193 views)
Tasted by Mossrose on 1/29/2018 & rated 93 points: Domaine Belluard is a champion for how great the wines from the Gringet grape can be. In these able hands, the Gringet wines excel. This is their dry version, that is competitive with Chardonnay, including the high acid style from Burgundy, the concentrated ones from Sonoma Coast in California, and the rich ones from Meursault. Also, his sparkling Gringet is competitive with Champagne Blanc de Blancs. Overall, an impressive combination of vivid and lively acidity, juiciness, excellent texture, tasty lemon citrus fruit, and richness. (115 views)
Tasted by vindictive on 3/3/2016: bright color, no signs of age, very mineral wine, gains complexity in the glass. Substantial and good structure - excellent mountain wine, I would be celebrating this wine more if it were less expensive. (3769 views)
Tasted by jlhkiss on 1/2/2016 & rated 90 points: Consistent with previous notes. Nice burst of kiwi-lime on the ultra dry finish, after the slightly creamy/round palate. Paired nicely with spicy yellow curry. (3151 views)
Tasted by ruchottalex on 11/29/2015 & rated 92 points: This is really good, so unique, so much minerality, decent heft in the mid palate, drinking so well right now. (3284 views)
Tasted by winemaker on 7/19/2015 & rated 92 points: My last bottle of 2012. Delicious! Still drinking really well. (3084 views)
Tasted by winemaker on 5/3/2015 & rated 91 points: Drinking well. Grapefruit and rocks. Love this wine. (2872 views)
Tasted by galenico on 3/11/2015 & rated 91 points: MASTER ESAGONALE FRANCIA; 1/14/2015-7/30/2015 (HOTEL WESTIN PALACE MILANO): Degustato alla cieca. 100% Gringet. Affinamento 60% cemento - 40% inox.
Buonisssimo (3166 views)
Tasted by drdebs on 1/31/2015 & rated 91 points: Absolutely fabulous. Crisp, clean grapefruit with a delicacy to the flavors that makes this the perfect antidote to Sauvignon Blanc fatigue (which I am suffering from). Altogether delicious. (1907 views)
Tasted by meisterjd on 12/29/2014 & rated 89 points: Lime and stonefruit on the nose. Mineral and perfume on the finish. A nice porch-sipping wine. (1956 views)
Tasted by jlhkiss on 11/29/2014 & rated 90 points: Light on its feet, zesty, lime and grapefruit, with good length and pop on the finish. (2384 views)
Tasted by christyler on 10/12/2014 & rated 92 points: More high-toned and acidic than Le Feu. Grapefruit, lemon, and lots of minerality. Medium bodied but still rich and mouth-filling. Excellent. (2558 views)
Tasted by winemaker on 9/21/2014 & rated 92 points: Really drinking well. Plenty of grapefruit, minerality and a je ne sais quoi of herbal savoriness. (2247 views)
Tasted by tourette on 9/20/2014 & rated 90 points: Pretty god damned tasty. Somebody else said that is was somewhat "wild" and I totally agree. Like a weird halfbreed sauvignon blanc. Sexy nose. Dry and sharp finish. Yum. (2277 views)
Tasted by David_T on 9/16/2014 & rated 90 points: A very distinct and unique popcorn note on both the nose and palate (plain popcorn, not the buttery stuff you'd find in an over-oaked chard). Pear and floral notes come through as well; a light-bodied very fresh wine with light acidity and minerality. Not super complex, but very enjoyable to drink - recommended. (1987 views)
Tasted by winemaker on 8/13/2014 & rated 91 points: Another good bottle. Flinty, citrusy, with the same herbal savory note I adore. (1459 views)
Tasted by winemaker on 7/4/2014 & rated 91 points: I love this wine. It has an herbal savoriness about it and an interesting note on the finish. Has some grapefruit in here as well. (1447 views)
Tasted by ininov on 6/14/2014: This is wild, funky, different and lovely, all at the same time. A little like the Lady Gaga of wine. It is very lively and energetic, intense, yet balanced and cool. Showing best at cellar temp. (1506 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 12/7/2013 & rated 88 points: A private dinner (Bentley's Oyster Bar, London, UK): From the indigenous and almost extinct Gringet grape; 22ha exist, of which 10 are tended by this domaine. Fresh and citrussy, scents of mountain air, perfume and candied ginger; energetic palate, attractive bitters, candied lemon, flowers, cool character; good intensity and length. (2211 views)
