Community Tasting Notes (average 91.9 pts. and median of 92 pts. in 38 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by WEB,III on 1/16/2024 & rated 91 points: Initially reduced. Flirted with oxy. Opened up with air and freshened up. Held well for day 2. Potentially not a perfect bottle, but drank well with texture and length over 24 hours. (484 views)
Tasted by Tore Ø on 12/23/2023 & rated 92 points: Just lovely. (347 views)
Tasted by pbaek on 8/10/2023: Medium yellow color. Entering maturity with notes of citronella, salt and brine. Complex with great character, this is playing in the first league. To bad I didn’t buy more when I had the chance. (580 views)
Tasted by Rallerboy888 on 3/7/2022 & rated 95 points: Poor man's Dauvissat! The bottle showed slightly oxidised when popped, but as it breathed in the glass a lot of bees wax, oyster shell, and a bracing acidity came through. This really split the waters around the table, but those who dig the Dauvissat style were into it.

I have another two bottles, and I probably won't wait too long before drinking up, as I can't see it improving any further, although it's not on the decline either. (1400 views)
Tasted by Helgebass on 7/22/2021: Flawed (1599 views)
Tasted by jsebiri on 5/4/2021: Waited too long to drink this , wine is all over the place. Flinty , stones, small secondary , too pungent. (1546 views)
Tasted by Tore Ø on 12/31/2020 & rated 92 points: Tribut with lobster om new years eve. Beautiful match!! (1602 views)
Tasted by Kappertje on 12/6/2020 & rated 92 points: Mooi licht goudgeel , groene schijn
Mineraal , ziltig , steen , citrus , limoen en oesterschelp
Zeer evenwichtig , fris sappig , mineralige ondertoon , prachtige fraicheur
Groot glas wijn met nog een 5 tal jaar reserve (1643 views)
Tasted by Pknut on 11/2/2020: Lovely right now, showing some sea breeze notes and really good purity and clarity. Sides seem to be smoothing out, not as angular as expected. Drink more short to mid term? In the Berkshires with grilled tuna. (1445 views)
(1456 views)
Tasted by cardsandwine on 3/5/2020: Pnp. While still young, this drank very nicely. Wonderful acidity and minerality on a beautifully balanced palate. Finish was clean, with good length. (1543 views)
Tasted by Pknut on 9/24/2019: This began well, with nice acids, grapefruit and unsweetened pineapple on the palate, but I detected a bit of a midpalate thinness that I hoped would fill on with more air. A 2014 Tribut should be singing right now. Unfortunately, I was away the next few nights, although the last of the bottle three or four days later was okay. Judgment reserved. (1762 views)
Tasted by R.H. on 7/21/2019: Very good. Bracing acidity. Citrus and stone. Hold, or decant. (1594 views)
Tasted by B Paul on 6/9/2019: Classic Chablis profile. Balanced and detailed. Good underlying complexity. Really enjoyed this. (1461 views)
Tasted by Ebrim on 3/23/2019 & rated 92 points: Short note - coravined 3 weeks ago, it shows, but not too much. Nose of honey, lanolin, chalk, lemon, apples, medium + complex nose. Palate is dry, high acidity, medium alcohol and intensity but high-dry extract. Aromas of honey, lanolin, lemon, chalk, oysters, very mineralic, intense acidity and long finish. Outstanding quality, 92p with an upside (1615 views)
Tasted by PJRONeill on 3/3/2019 & rated 93 points: A pale lemon color that suggests a still-young wine but on the nose it has the first hint of that candied pineapple note I get in Chablis with some age. This is clearly on the cusp of its proper drinking window - notes of citrus, Granny Smith apple and oyster shell and in the mouth it is nicely plump but with a bright acidic edge.

Delicious now, will be interesting to follow over the next decade or so. (1484 views)
Tasted by AdrienJ on 1/5/2019 & rated 88 points: Très belle acidité ! Encore du potentiel de garde. Très beau potentiel ! (1462 views)
Tasted by B Paul on 6/23/2018: This was drinking wonderfully. Energetic and complex. Classic Chablis. Drink now or hold. (1965 views)
Tasted by Bernt Olav on 4/18/2018 & rated 93 points: Flott flaske. Betydelig mer åpen enn forrige flaske for noen få dager siden(flaskevariasjon?). (2029 views)
Tasted by R.H. on 4/18/2018: Really good. (2045 views)
Tasted by Bernt Olav on 4/8/2018 & rated 89 points: Lys farge. (1900 views)
Tasted by Tubulus on 8/3/2017 & rated 92 points: Still utterly delicious. Finish a bit thinner than the last bottle I had (though perhaps will fill out tomorrow night). (2725 views)
Tasted by Drankard on 7/29/2017 & rated 94 points: Supposedly, Laurent Tribut married Marie-Clotilde Dauvissat, the daughter of René Dauvissat. The Dauvissats had purchased choice parcels to give their children to become winemakers, which is the land Laurent and Marie-Clotilde farm. Tribut was welcomed with open arms to the Dauvissat winemaking process: the two domaines share everything from pickers to printers and until very recently, Tribut made wines in Dauvissat’s cellar. This is the best young 2014 white Burgundy I’ve had without being painful to drink. Very pale yellow in color. The wine is graceful with excellent balance. Perfect concentration, incredibly pure, lacey fruit flavors with tension and drive that is so classy. (2566 views)
Tasted by Cote d'Or on 7/16/2017: Tasted over 2 hrs and day 2
-translucent light gold
-citrus and stone
-med+ acidity, med/med- weight sappy tangy citrus dominant ripe but not sweet, good length; excellent depth and cut on day 2
-dynamic with good depth and complexity while delivering excellent Chablis typicity (1984 views)
Tasted by Ebrim on 5/13/2017 & rated 92 points: Short note - clean, lime, greene apples, limestone, oysters, very well balanced and intense acidity, good concentration and long finish, need time, very youthfull, outstanding quality, 92p (2065 views)

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio

Chablis

Chablis (Fédération de Défense de l'Appellation Chablis) | Chablis (Burgundy Wines)

2014 Vintage Notes:
"... a hybrid of 2004/2007 and 2010. The stone, citrus and limestone amalgam is exactly what we search for in Chablis as the style harkens to a day in the Cote de Beaune proper (1960's - 1980's) when wine was not meant to be consumed the week it was released, battonage was not used by all and new oak was rarely seen ... the texture is natural and 'of the vintage' not 'of the winemaker' .... Like Sancerre or the Loire in general, 2014 in Chablis is one of those rare years with extract and transparency. It appears to be a vintage for the "neoclassic" ages and those of us intent on cellaring the most terroir-driven (but still powerful) examples of vineyard, site-place and varietal will want to invest (heavily) in the magnetic and electric 2014's." - Jon Rimmerman

2018 Vintage Notes:
"There’s not that razor sharp Chablis acidity in 2018,” says Patrick Piuze. “But there is good definition of place. The dry conditions drove vines to drink deeper down in the soil profile."
