Tasted by pdotterw on 2/11/2024 & rated 93 points: Enjoyed but it can do with some more aging.
The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like toast and coffee. The body is full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. (455 views)
Tasted by 560 B&W on 2/6/2024 & rated 92 points: Very pretty. But oh, the QPR. 13.7% (478 views)
Tasted by magyarsvensk on 7/26/2023 & rated 97 points: Flowers, chocolate, caramel, cherries, plums, sweet shop and a hint of green pepper. Drinking magnificently at the moment. Restrained and silky, it's understated power comes from a broad tonal range. Gently persistent. WOTY? (855 views)
Tasted by Mear55 on 4/2/2023 & rated 95 points: Drinking beautifully right now. Nose of caramel, strawberry, cola, vanilla. Well structured and long finish. (1108 views)
Tasted by Wine_in_HD on 1/13/2023 & rated 90 points: Savory. Most of the fruit is gone. Drink up! (1260 views)
Tasted by VinoExplorer on 3/27/2022 & rated 91 points: Pop and poured.
A deep ruby with hues of orange already
Green, forest twigs. Jammy black cherry and bell pepper. It's warm and well rounded already not particularly acidic or tannic with a sweet and savory finish. Ready to enjoy already and probably should consume over next few years (2074 views)
Tasted by Shep LA on 3/24/2022: Slightly corked. (1930 views)
Tasted by Shep LA on 3/24/2022: Slightly corked (1672 views)

Tasted by swamik00 on 4/14/2021: Library release from the winery. Coravin pour w/o much aeration. Nose: floral, classic aged cali cab. Intense, spicy red fruit on the palate. Will try aerated later this week. (2401 views)
Tasted by magyarsvensk on 3/27/2021: Flowers, forest leaves, currant jam, road tar, vanilla bean, jalapeño, brown sugar. The mouthfeel is incredible with an ideal finish. (1774 views)
Tasted by BigTex22 on 11/27/2020 & rated 92 points: Last bottle, decanted and consumed over a few hours. Very floral, light and red fruited cherry. Elegant wine that should drink well for many more years. (2228 views)
Tasted by talbot61 on 11/15/2020 & rated 90 points: When first opened, this was unconvincing -- closed, slightly mushroomy, with strong reductive notes. The reduction and the fungal character disappeared after two hours in a decanter, and the wine improved continuously as it was open -- the best drop was the last. This is still a wine for cat lovers. The evolution of this bottle over the course of the evening suggests that other bottles will still benefit from at least two more years in the cellar. (2082 views)
Tasted by Wine_in_HD on 8/15/2020 & rated 88 points: Prominent flavors of oak. Probably should have consumed much earlier. Just don't think these splits age as well as a full bottle. (2396 views)
Tasted by MaxSiegel on 7/30/2020 & rated 93 points: Knockout nose of blackberry, cassis, eucalyptus, and mint. Slight notes of pepper and graphite. Velvety palate has ripe plum, blackberry, and currant fruit. Quite minerally and even floral for California. Fine-grained tannins provide structure without any drying effect or feeling that this is too young to drink. Very impressive ripeness for a 2011 Napa but with so much freshness. Long finish. Plenty of life ahead. (1702 views)
Tasted by jvphoto on 7/11/2020 & rated 92 points: Decanted for 2 hours. Blueberry, white tobacco, gravel, iron, rhubarb. Great balance of acidity and a velvety finish. (1554 views)
Tasted by Tim Heaton on 6/19/2020 flawed bottle: TCA/off (2130 views)
Tasted by pdr_urrutia on 5/31/2020 & rated 96 points: Velvety and complex. Nose has notes of juicy blackberry, plum, tobacco, and menthol with a hint of dusty minerality. Highly perfumed. Smells absolutely delicious. Tastes just as good. More juicy dark fruit and wet, loamy earth with rosemary and deep, intriguing spice. Just wonderful. (1493 views)
Tasted by Gott vin on 3/24/2020 & rated 90 points: Inte jättelik en bra bdx. Lite mycket blåbär för det. Men ett bra och gott vin. (1596 views)
Tasted by mindtrip on 3/15/2020 & rated 92 points: Drank with friends, no food pairings; decanted for about an hour. Drinking deliciously! Fruity, with blackberry, blueberry & cherry. Deep ruby, moderate legs and running moderately slowly. I think this will sit well, but is also drinking great right now. (1430 views)
 Tasted by Wine_in_HD on 3/12/2020 & rated 90 points: from a split/half bottle (1422 views)
Tasted by glou.sf on 1/11/2020 & rated 92 points: Dark and savory, with notes of currants, black berries, and eucalyptus on the nose. Well integrated tannins with dark fruit, more black berries, a hint of plum, and a pronounced currant note on the palate. Good finish. (1623 views)
Tasted by MartyL on 12/21/2019 & rated 93 points: Great vintage that is drinking beautifully now. Cool cassis fruit, medium bodied and elegant on the palate. A very subtle herbal/eucalyptus note comes through too. Really liked this. (1740 views)
Tasted by BigTex22 on 12/31/2018 & rated 94 points: Floral bliss. Disappointed with most 2011 Napa cabs, but not this one. Dances across the room and you can’t look away. Mid weight and ethereal. Beautiful wine. (2276 views)
Tasted by dream on 12/25/2018 & rated 93 points: Beautiful nose of cassis and eucalyptus. Very silky and fine on the palate with lovely flavors of blackberries, cassis and mint. This is drinking so well now with a fresh, crunchy finish that is rarely available in the Napa Valley. Should still improve over the medium term. 93+ (2068 views)

Corison

Producer website

Corison Winery is located just south of the town of St. Helena in the upper Napa Valley. They are on the west side of Highway 29, about a quarter mile north of Zinfandel Lane, at 987 St. Helena Highway, Saint Helena, CA 94574.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
