| Community Tasting Notes (average 79.4 pts. and median of 80 pts. in 16 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by Jhcwine on 11/19/2010 & rated 75 points: Tasted at the "Hollywood Reds" tutored tasting session at the Gourmet Wine and Food Show, Toronto. A poorly chosen, poor quality batch of wines. Nose - plebian nose, not much fruit, abit of alcohol. Palette - Light body, fruit juice with tannin. No complexity whatsoever. The wine maker should try another profession. (3381 views) | | Tasted by Frostveske on 10/28/2010 & rated 70 points: DÃ¥rlig, tynn saft. Excellent value for money. (3869 views) | | Tasted by askoje on 3/10/2010 & rated 79 points: Color: Medium red, nice rim and hint of purple. Nose: Very fruit forward. Oak, warm, rubber, burnt plastic. Some currant and blackberries on the finish with hints of cinnamon and coffee. Taste: THIN, not as hot as you might expect from the nose. Low acidity, low on tannins. Some tart aromas with tobacco and that's about it. There is no aftertaste..... | Fetzer Producer websiteZinfandel ZAP: Zinfandel Advocates & Producers | Varietal character (Appellation America) | Wikipedia-ZinfandelUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson CaliforniaNapa Valley.http://www.stagecoachvineyard.com/vineyards/our_vineyards.php Santa Ynez.http://www.everyvine.com/org/Camp_Four/vineyard/Camp_Four/ |
