(1448 views) | | Tasted by CameronSumpter on 1/30/2016: It was still drinking quite well in 2014 but is now noticeably past its prime. Potable but should be consumed sooner rather than later. (2197 views) | | Tasted by jcosindc on 1/27/2014 & rated 84 points: Nothing special but it is a decent, very light-bodied wine for everyday drinking (3459 views) | | Tasted by Arkiefoodie on 10/17/2012 & rated 86 points: Dark ruby in color. Fragrant nose of plum, cherry, a hint of orange, and something really fresh and green that I can't identify. Rich and somewhat dry mouth with a nice balance of fruit and spice. Paired well with a grilled pork tenderloin. Just a very nice, easy to drink red wine. (4811 views) | | Tasted by TheWinedown on 6/16/2012 & rated 88 points: Continues to improve nicely as it ages. My biggest gripes are that it has little body, and not much on the mid-palate. It does have a nice depth of flavor, and flavors that are geared toward the old-world. This isn't a cali-cab killer. Don't expect it to be. But I can see this pairing well with a roast chicken. Good length finish. (4458 views) | | Tasted by boatman72 on 5/2/2012 & rated 84 points: Integrating with some age. Too tired to provide detail, but still enjoyable after 3rd day. This is not a heavy wine or something that goes WOW!!!! (4045 views) | | Tasted by TheWinedown on 2/26/2012 & rated 85 points: Improving with some age. Nice complexity, but no length, or serious depth. | Kluge Estate Producer websiteRed Blend.USAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.Virginia Virginia Wines (Virginia Wineries Association)Central VirginiaMonticello is the proper sub region in Virginia for King Family Vineyards, not Central Region. |
