Nice, dark color, Zinfandel driven, sweet nose. Not overly complex. Some red berries, some dried fruit, some sweetness. Quite short but silky and sweet finish. Drink up - I doubt that it’s getting any better. (253 views) | | Tasted by Chris Cabo on 3/22/2020: The aromas are complex and inviting, with lifted red fruit elements of raspberry and plum, as well as deeper bramble fruit notes and layers of vanilla, cream, nutmeg and cinnamon · A smooth, rich entry leads to sweet plum and lingering spice notes, with hints of cedar and clove · The wine’s lush texture is supported by resolved tannins that lead to a full, ripe finish. (1126 views) | | Tasted by jdawg on 11/24/2019 & rated 91 points: Pleasantly surprised... Soft and supple. Would not have thought it was a Zinfandel blend. Decanted for an hour and a half. Near it's peak. (1185 views) | | Tasted by cbrachfeld on 10/27/2017 & rated 92 points: Remarkable. Opens with huge fruit but has serious, perfectly melded tannin and tobacco notes. I would not have guessed that the blend is with CS; would have taken the second grape to be syrah. I'd say this is peaking but will be quite good for at least 4-5 years. (2467 views) | | Tasted by RichardnJaime on 9/29/2017 & rated 95 points: Wow, this is very tasty. Wish we had more. Robe bien sombre. *** (2192 views) | | Tasted by Stacey57 on 8/18/2016: Need to drink this year (2887 views) | | Tasted by agirlandherglass on 2/24/2016 & rated 86 points: Aromas of blueberry pie, black raspberry jam, spice with just a whif of fresh cut herbs. Acidity holding, flavors showing tart black cherry, stewed blackberry, dark chocolate, softening tannins, slightly hot would drink up (2702 views) | | Tasted by JJ-Jacobs on 1/23/2016 & rated 87 points: Good, but I expected more. (2618 views) | | Tasted by danielbleier on 11/20/2015 & rated 88 points: consistent with notes of 6/30/2012 - still holding well (2637 views) | | Tasted by DTown Vino on 11/1/2015 & rated 89 points: Straight forward Zin Cab blend. Fruit forward, some cab but little tannin. Just OK, should drink the 2009 by the end of 2015. (2573 views) | | Tasted by oenophilemoose on 9/6/2015 flawed bottle: This bottle was heading south. May be time to drink up. (2191 views) | | Tasted by folsomarndt on 5/5/2015 & rated 91 points: A fun, big bold blend, with lots of pepper and spice. Pared well with a variety of food and was the favorite of several folks that night. (1657 views) | | Tasted by scottash on 4/25/2015 & rated 82 points: Cherry, chocolate. Tasty. Hit tiongue on rear 2/3. (1845 views) | | Tasted by ddsolomon2000 on 1/11/2015 & rated 91 points: Awesome pepper finish. Just keeps getting better. (2220 views) | | Tasted by Baron Slick on 5/18/2014 & rated 89 points: Rich, ripe, and bold notes of fresh and roasted cherries, plums, cedar, vanillin, BBQ meat, and cocoa. This has a smooth texture, juicy acidity, Cabernet structure, and a bowl of cherries on the spicy, peppery finish. What a curious wine. It's definitely well made, very tasty, but the intense flavors turn richer, denser, almost excessive with air, yet it manages to stop just short of being a fruit bomb. Maybe time will help it decide what it wants to be. (3831 views) | | Tasted by Coachron13 on 1/20/2014 & rated 88 points: Light and fruity upon opening. Decanted and used aerator to help open it up. Paired pretty well with sweet glazed chicken. This needs more time in bottle to hopefully make it more like prior vintages. (4545 views) | | Tasted by Rossdhu House on 1/9/2014 & rated 85 points: A little early. (4348 views) | | Tasted by SABRCW on 11/29/2013 & rated 89 points: Beginning to come of age. Nice after some decant time. Deep plum and blackberry fruit flavors with nice texture in the mouth. (4829 views) | | Tasted by cucycling on 10/25/2013 & rated 90 points: Big rich fruity zin qualties with some cabernet backbone. beautiful spicy nose. (4711 views) | | Tasted by Kayaklady on 10/14/2013 & rated 92 points: Dark and inky; long finish, moderate tannins. (3436 views) | | Tasted by Flappas Cellars on 8/18/2013 & rated 89 points: Good, not great. Had with sausage, eggplant and onions pizza. (3501 views) | | Tasted by 1964vintage on 7/15/2013 & rated 90 points: Coming together. Shows balance of fruit, tannins, finish. Another couple of years and it should hit stride. The 02's and 04's are drinking great right now. (3749 views) | | Tasted by Fjersa on 7/8/2013 & rated 87 points: Sweeter than expected. Taste a lot of fruit. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers.
