Tasted by NickNYC on 4/21/2024 & rated 92 points: Half bottle that was in my cellar for more than 10 years. I really like evolved champagne and this one did not disappoint. Very nice nose, a bit of citrus, chalk and buttery biscuits. The bubble is refined, tamed, nice acidity and ok length (1264 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 4/20/2024: This nice cinnamon Spice note to the nose. (1260 views)
Tasted by Lyubomir Lefterov on 4/20/2024 & rated 90 points: This was singing last night with smoked salmon. Focused and fresh with good weight a classic NV cuvee. way Better than the sparkling wines I had lately. 12%. (1053 views)
Tasted by Marcosppd on 4/6/2024 & rated 85 points: Pouco expressiva, pouca perlage na taça apesar de presente na boca. Pouco aroma de tostado e pão característico (1290 views)
Tasted by NoTrollingerPlease on 3/28/2024: Asperg Wine Syndrome Tasting Group: Easter Edition 2024 (Asperg): From a Magnum somewhere disgorged around 1990. Beautiful balance, nice mousseux and still quite lively. Round and harmonious. (1545 views)
Tasted by Purple Tooth on 3/25/2024 & rated 91 points: Another great place to park 40 bucks for all the toast and bread notes that you get here. A true up front Champagne character, without the mid palate guts to be anything more. Very satisfying and above many in this price range. Not made to hold (1640 views)
Tasted by mwneil on 3/20/2024 & rated 90 points: Ft Wayne Dinners; 3/19/2024-3/20/2024: Good bubbles, big flavors, taste the oak, $19,97 at Costco-say what, small glass with other red wines, will drink again. (1516 views)
Tasted by DTK Rockstar on 2/28/2024 & rated 87 points: Classic brioche and yeast. Actually probably more yeastiness (in a good way) than the other big champagne houses. I like it. (2127 views)
Tasted by gpunch on 2/17/2024 & rated 86 points: Nose: Bread dough, lemon, butterscotch, granny smith caramel apple.
Palate: Tart non-alcoholic cider, raspberry, strawberry. I got more autolytic notes in the aroma than I do here. High acid but very generous dosage. Has a bit of grip to it. I prefer a creamier mouse and smaller bubbles. (1874 views)
Tasted by 3daywinereview.com on 2/12/2024 & rated 92 points: Day 1 ok and day 2 review: This is better and a bit more tart which I like. Shells, lemon, lime, candied pineapple, spice, minerals and orange peel. Medium finish and with this newer NV needs some time to blossom. 92 points (1940 views)
Tasted by zagtoong on 2/4/2024 & rated 90 points: 맛남 (1881 views)
Tasted by 로엔 on 1/14/2024 & rated 85 points: 목넘김 좋은 부드러운 엔트리샴페인. 가성비 굳. 재구매의사 매우 있음 (1797 views)
Tasted by 3daywinereview.com on 1/14/2024 & rated 92 points: Sampled on day 2. While this is not the 2008 Rare experience last weekend this is very good. Orange peel, chalk, green apple, spice, lemon and floral notes. Super complex for a NV for $40.00. Much better than Veuve Clicquot for more and while not 08 good for 5 bottles I am in for this over the Rare. (2444 views)
Tasted by WCW.wine on 1/2/2024 & rated 92 points: Buy again, Excellent (watch price) (2176 views)
Tasted by mrandmrsro on 1/1/2024 & rated 90 points: I’ve been moving this bottle around in my refrigerator since I purchased it a year ago. I’m not really a champagne person, but today was the right day to pop the cork. I was pleasantly surprised at the apple, light citrus tone and a long finish. I plan to look for another bottle. (1539 views)
Tasted by tfaunt on 12/31/2023 & rated 88 points: Lots of apple - fresh, baked, apple crumble. Bright acidity, toast on the nose and palate, full mouthfeel. Very good. (1315 views)
Tasted by Whinealot17 on 12/31/2023 & rated 88 points: Very interesting; apple pie, grass and lemon, some yeast/bread notes, great small bubbles. A bit sweet, would be excellent paired with an apple crumble or pie. (1754 views)
Tasted by 3daywinereview.com on 12/30/2023 & rated 92 points: Solid again. Tasted at a local wine shop and features lemon, dough, mild chalk, spice, tropical fruit and dust. Medium finish and nice acidity. (1570 views)
Tasted by Vinnut on 12/27/2023 & rated 91 points: Pale & light yellow in color with a very fine & consistent perlage. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of baked apples, pears & lemons/limes with overtones of floral & yeasty/toasty notes, minerals & a hint of roasted hazelnuts. Light bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, zesty, ripe fruit flavors of apples & lemons/limes with yeasty/toasty, nuts & minerals. Lingering dry finish. Drinks quite well at present & may continue develop further with additional aging. Very good QPR especially when found at discount. An indicative blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier & 20% Chardonnay. (1635 views)
Tasted by Harley1199 on 12/25/2023: 2023 Family Xmas; 12/23/2023-12/25/2023 (Alicante - España): A bottle that has remained for several years in my parents' cellar and yet has not lost a shred of vigor. Even the cork has not been reduced by a single apex. On the nose, smoked notes of hawthorn flower, butter bread, citrus and limestone mineral predominate. In the mouth it retains power, grip and a gastronomic acidity. Good party finale. Merry Christmas!

¡Feliz Navidad! (1650 views)
Tasted by Dozhdbog on 12/25/2023 & rated 92 points: Balanced with fine bubbles and creamy texture. Notes of lemon zest and apple. Clean finish. Elegant. Went great with appetizers of oysters, blini with creme fraiche and caviar, and anchovy crostini. (1438 views)
Tasted by 3daywinereview.com on 12/24/2023 & rated 91 points: This was not as good as the bottle earlier in the month. Sour apple, dough, mild spice, grapefruit and chalk. Medium finish. (1730 views)

Producer website

N.V. Piper-Heidsieck Champagne Cuvée Brut

[From producer website] The majority of the blend of Piper-Heidsieck signature Cuvée Brut is composed of Pinor Noir. Hand selected parcels of Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay also play important roles in the elaboration of this well-balanced cuvée. Selected reserve wines from preceding years are incorporated into the blend to ensure consistency of style year after year. The blend is aged for minimum 24 months on the lees before release. The nose is reminiscent of a bright, fresh morning during the early days of May. Notes of citrus, pear, Granny Smith apple and subtle hints of warm toastiness follow spring blossoms such as hawthorn. The palate is lively and fresh with more mature or pineapple, nutmeg, white pepper and Oriental zest.

Champagne Blend

"Champagne blend" is a classic grape blend that typically includes Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and/or Pinot Meunier in any proportions.

However, this blend can also include Arbane, Fromenteau (Pinot Gris), Petit Meslier and/or Pinot Blanc as well.

France - When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of consistent quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them. Click for a list of bestselling items from all of France.
Sub-Region:

Champagne - The French region of Champagne (including the cities of Rheims, Épernay, and Aÿ) was the first region in the world to make sparkling wine in any quantity. Today, the name of the region is synonymous with the finest of all sparkling wines, and wine-making traditions of Champagne have become role models for sparkling wine producers, worldwide. Surprisingly, the region of Champagne is now responsible for only one bottle in 12 of all sparkling wine produced. Styles of champagne range in sweetness ranging from an extra brut or brut 0, to the basic brut to demi sec to doux; some houses produce single vintage champagnes and others produce non-vintage (or incorporate wines/grapes of multiple vintages), often to preserve a specific taste; combinations of grape varietals; and colors, including a rosé. There are several sub-appellations, including the Valley of the Marnes river running from Épernay west, Massif de Saint-Thierry north and west of Rheims, Valley of the Ardre, the Mountains of Rheims (between Rheims and Épernay), Côte des Blancs, Côte de Sézanne, and Côte des Bar in the South. Champagne wine only uses three grape varietals (cépages): Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.
